I havn't been painting or converting as much as usual lately, got back into it this week though, here are some of the latest. I wasn't happy with the first incarnation of my IG army, so I repainted and re-worked some of the models and started working on the second squad. Sorry if my photography is less than great, I am working on that as well.

awsome work all around. Im not usually a fan of those heads being they are quite overused, but the painting and conversions gives them a almost cold war era russian feel that I am really digging atm. Look forward to seeing more of them.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Pig Iron IG have become more and more common, but you've managed to give them a unique feeling, great work! Love the paint job on the chimera too!

I'm loving the squad! you took a extremely generic helmet and color scheme yet added a unique flavor that puts it high above most other units with those same aspects. The scratch built heavy bolter is great, although holding it that high up is probably a little hard on the soldier's muscles. One question why the imperial eagles on the backs of the helmets? I like the look, just wondering the reason. Great squad can't wait to see more.

The eagles are on the back of the helmets as to make their comrades easily identifiable in the heat of combat, it reduces incidents of friendly fire. (So the guys in back don't shoot the ones in front). Thanks for all the kind words, I have a P&M blog going, which I will update in the next day or two, please check it out.

They look great, i reakon that you have realy captured the dark future of warhammer 40k, in that its so far in time but the tech is so primitive.

one question, space marines look like they can barely hold up a heavy bolter, hows thats guardsmen doing it. Unless its your gunnery sergeant harker.

Games and Armies I play:
Warmachine: Cygnar.
Dystopian wars: Prussia.

The guy holding up the HB (Harker I assume) looks ridiculous. Which is exactly the reason I love it.

I also love the longer flammenwaffen. Good work all round.

I think the best part is how different they look from Cadians with so few actual changes. Very well done.

Like the Pig Iron stuff generally - not a fan of those heads.

Don't like any quasi-russki themed army, tbh (don't care for them in FoW either. Blame my upbringing.)

Prefer their other more SF heads.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

The guy holding up the heavy bolter can do so cause he's such a bad a$$! And cause it is stripped down and made of extremely light weight composite future materials

Very nice looking army. I'm digging the heads and I love the tweaked flame thrower.

What backpacks are you using? / Where did you get them?

I used guardsmen backpacks from maxxmini, I believe. They are a pretty good deal, as they come ten to a pack and include all sorts of extra little pouches and webbing. I think they cost me something like $5 usd, and $2 to ship. Would prolly consider buying packs from "the assault group" next time, they are a bit cheaper.

Eagles on the back of the head makes complete sense now that you explained it. Most people don't consider the problem of friendly fire when converting minis I'm utterly impressed.

Omadon's Realm

I love all of it bar the HB guy. The rest has such a resonance of realism about it then you have that guy holding a vehicle gun like it's made of balloons, if you'd used a rocket launcher on that pose it would be the win of all the models so far but the HB just looks wrong to me.

Great looking chimera btw.

yeah,
I agree even Sgt Harker has to hold PayBack with two hands! The chimera does look good but the Las ports look goofy, it's easier to just leave the lasguns off and cover the ports from behind with card... painted blue they look like veiw ports.

I like the PigIron heads and the guys look really well painted. nice. look forward to seeing more.

Panic...
