What do think this means, if anything at all? All I know is I like them.

You're preaching to the choir here.

I'm happy with the new Crimson Fists bits. While I miss GW's old bits service like everyone else, I'm happy they're coming out with these packs fairly often. These should do well to upgrade a squad of tactical marines to sternguard for my Fists.

That just about sums this new release up, but just because they release something, doesn't mean it will instantly get a codex. You're too quick to jump to conclusions Tim.

Lessee. Apparently it means (d6):
1: A power fist is worth $2.50
2: "five of one type and three of another" means they can give us whatever they feel like casting.
3: Apparently assault squads and jump packs don't mix
4: Chapterhouse may have GW nervous.
5: Pistachio Ice Cream
6: Pick two.

Its great that they're finally doing this, but its something that should have been done some time ago and in a more concerted manner.
Overall score: 75 of 100.

Somewhere out there there's a staff member at GW who honestly, truly, right down to the bottom of his heart thinks that people both need more Power Weapons and Power Fists and we need them in metal rather than plastic.

The metal heads? Good idea. Why do I have to buy backpacks (something we all have 10 gazillion of) to get three of the fething things? Why not do the smart thing and release packs of 10 Mk.7 and 10 Mk.6 heads? They'll sell.

Why does the Assault Marine pack come with regular backpacks?

mk.6 Beakie Head with mk.6 Strap Torso *and* mk.6 Studded Pad? Yes, I'd want that even more than Beakie Heads alone!

10 beakie heads
10 strap torsos
10 studded shoulderpads

GW could do a whole "direct-only" conversion sprue, like the Deffrolla, and they'd sell just fine.

But I do agree that breaking them up into backpacks, shoulder pads, heads, weapons would make them more likely to be bought.
