Ehh...never was into manga that much, I don't recall ever reading a single one. I've also seen very little anime, just whatever they had on Cartoon Network years back and the movie Akira.

I like mecha, though.

Only Manga I've actually bothered to read was Death Note, then I couldn't really be bothered watching it after that, except for the ending which sucked compaired to the Manga's one. But the only novel I've ever brought was also the Death Note one, although that has lead me to considering a few Black Library books now.

Death Note, Rurouni Kenshin, Air Gear, Gundam (00, stardust, 08th MS team), Trigun, Kuroshitsuji, FLCL, Fullmetal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu, Excel Saga and Black Cat are the only Animes I remember at the moment as part of the ones I liked the most. DB, DBZ are alright and Pokemon stopped being good around the time they started making up lots of random towns in the first series. IMO

If Dragonball, Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT are classed as 'Anime' then those.

Never really got into the Anime fad (yes it was a fad here - or so I hear). But like Sidstyler said, anything on Cartoon Network which I haven't had now for like 10 years.

Power Puff Girls? The monkey Jojo (I think that was his name) was funny.

My favorite mangas:

"Aria" slice of life
"Battle Angel Alita" ( james cameron making movie on it? ) sci-fi action ( i love the story )
"Blade of Immortal" fantasy? action ( for the art style )
"Blame!" sci-fi action ( but im mostly interested in the art style )

Thats the thing , I dont think its right to look at anime as all one same genre . Just see it as a visual and audio medium to tell a story.
( thus we get variations like for children , teen , boy , girl , adult )

I read Naruto Shippedun manga of youtube, Im behind by like 20 chapters.

But the only good animes, Is Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Old School/Universal Century Gundam.

None of that wannabe Super Suits BS where they can only be destroyed by story advancement(at which point their armor becomes paper, I'm looking at YOU Gundam Wing, you POS!). If enemy grunt suits can't threaten the main characters on a regular basis, there's something wrong.

I'm not a big fan of anime/manga,the artistic style (oversized heads,bulging eyes etc) just puts me off of most of it,although I have enjoyed some of it ,such as Ninja scroll and Deviman.
I much prefer the animation in films like " Heavy Metal" and " American pop".

I don't like particular genres, just exceptional examples of those genres. Akira, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell. I honestly haven't read any new manga in years, however I'm looking forward to picking up The Box Man by Iimiri Sakabashira.

If Deamon Dairies (spelling fail) is 1 and Full-Metal Alchemist is 10, then I'd put Claymore as around about...8?

Also, my favourite one was the cowboy boutny hunters...what was it? Blazzing Barrels?

Full metal alchemist was made first, its only fifty episodes, but is very good. As far as I know it doesnt follow the manga but is close.

Full metal Alchemist Brotherhood, it starts as the same time as Full metal alchemist but is in alternative universe from Full metal alchemist. The storyline is different, as is everything else. Apart from the basics of alchemy and most characters.

Full metal alchemist Brotherhood is on its 33st? episode and is amazing, its like they fixed all the things wrong with Full metal alchemist.

For example Al in FMA (full metal alchemist) was pretty crappy, he was more like Edwards sidekick then a brother. In Brotherhood, he is awesome. They developed his character properly and he is my fav character.

I think Brotherhood follows the manga.
