If you're looking for something different, try Halo Wars. It's a very good example of how RTS games should work on consoles and a big skirmish game with all 6 commanders is a blast.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

It'll still be the same crap aiming system. Even Left 4 Dead is better than that garbage.

If I wanted to play a zombie shooter, I'll just play Killing Floor, which I got for a whoppin' $5 off Steam...same graphics/engine, everything as Left 4 Dead.

Just with awesome things like chainsaws, LAWs, and C4!

Fast moving Zombies are not Zombies. Fast moving Zombies are an aberation of the genre and should be put away for all time.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Left For Dead 1 or 2
CoD: Modern Warfare 1 or 2 (both are fantastic, though you'll probably find more people on 2 these days, obviously)
Halo Wars
Battlefield: Bad Company.

And I would also suggest Brutal Legend, simply because it's a Tim Schafer game; the controls can be a little more difficult to get a hold of in the RTS mini-sessions, though. That might put you off. But still, it's a game about nothing but heavy metal, you can't really go wrong.

Ouze on GW: "I'd like to be like, hey baby, you're a freak but you just got too much crazy going on, and I don't hook up with bunny boilers. But then Necrons are going to come out, and I'm going to be like damn girl, and then next thing you know, it's angry sex time again.

It's complicated."

The same as you do on the PC.

You just aim normally. It's really not that hard. Try it out sometime.

With practice?
First time I played a console FPS I was stumped, but it soon became second nature

So basically with practice , you can be as fast and accurate with controller compared to mouse o_o? ( like 100% the same? )

Cozy cockpit of an Archer ARC-5S

Good console FPS' have aim-assist and good key mapping.

Anyway, my list:

- Saints Row 2
- Assassin's Creed 2
- Mass Effect
- Gears of War 2
- Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Attack of the sequels, I know.

edit.

Mouse and keyboard are still better mind you, just look at that Shadowrun game that was released for the 360 and PC. Who did it best? PC? Who suffered the most? 360.

What on earth is so stunning about it? Why would anyone find aiming with a controller harder than using a mouse?

Hmm.. let me think for a moment...

Shooter: The Orange Box. It has one fantastic singleplayer shooter, a great multiplayer shooter and one of the best games on the entire generation.

RPG: Fallout 3 or Mass Effect. If you're looking for a good RPG, these are the ones to go. And imo much more intersting than the usual sword & sorcery stuff.

Action: Batman: Arkham Asylum or Dead Rising. Don't listen to Kanluwen. Dead Rising is real fun when it gets going.

Grand Theft Auto 4. I usually don't like these games, but GTA4 is fantastic.

Banjo-Kazzoie Nuts and Bolts. It doesn't really fit into a specific genre. Imagine classic collect-a-thons combined with Lego racers and the incredible machine and you're half-way there.

I have definately improved drastically with practice. I used to be head shot king on the PC, but had to train myself quite a lot to get anywhere near as good on the 360. You can get very good at it if you put in the hours (though I am still not as good as some people appear to be *coughaimbotsI'msurecough*), I am certainly not bad and much better than I used to be.

And my list would be:

Fallout 3 (GOTYE)
Halo ODST
Halo 3

Any other 2 games of your choice.

Edit: though I would second Banjo-Kazzoie Nuts and Bolts and The Orange Box.

It's a pretty reasonable question as they are very different controls. Just ask anyone who's dreamed of a console RTS.
