I recently finished a project to do the whole box of Space Hulk minis. These guys are the most dynamic terminators and Genestealers to come out of any Games Workshop line, and they're really quite marvelous to paint.

I painted the lightning arcs onto the power sword and thunder hammer by request of my client. I think both of them turned out rather well.

Overall this project matches the studio scheme for Space Hulk a little more closely than the previous set of terminators that I painted.

Awesome work, truly stunning. I don't suppose you can share your secrets with us lesser mortals? I am currently struggling to get my SH set painted up....

nice work! I like how your genestealer colors harken back closely to the original color scheme they had - a bit lighter in tone back then.

My only critique would be that the dead marine on the throne needs a bit more battle damage. Would help with the aged look.

They are very nice, but there is one little bit that bothers me:

The Storm Bolters.

The barrels should really be drilled out to make them look like guns instead of the flat front they get molded with.

Well, I'm perfectly willing to share my methods. Do you have any specific questions?

There're a lot of people who feel very strongly about drilling out bolters nowdays. It really used to be a sort of rare and eccentric thing that some modelers did, but it has become more common.

Of course, I did not assemble these minis, and I really only drill out the bolters upon my client's request.

I think these might be the best youve done yet man. I agree with you, the minis from that set are incredibly nice. They ALMOST make me want to start a SM chapter just to use those terminators lol. As always great work

I think they are better painted than the one 'Eavy Metal team painted.
At least Lorenzo is. I feel like hes in a dark hulk with a blink of light coming from his front and then disapperaing...
By this I mean that the dynamic light-feeling in your miniatures is one of the best I have ever seen!

Win/Draw/Lost statics

Space Marines: 10/2/5
Lizardmen: 8/2/3

Would really appreciate some tips on buidling up the Blood Angels power armour. I have a BA army waiting to be done but I struggle to get them painted because I seem to spend so much time doing the armour. I prime white then paint scab red and then blood red leaving the darker shade in the recess but it takes ages to do one mini. I wonder if there is a more time efficient way of doing it?

QFT, but I guess if these were for a client, then whatever.

These are painted with a black undercoat. Then, the darkest colors go on first, and I highlighted up to the lighter shades of red. So, start out with the dark crimson, and work your way up. The more you mix your colors, the smoother your transitions will be.

It is a little more efficient than inking down your shading, and quite a bit more efficient than starting with a white undercoat.
