I was mostly thinking of adding longer more rippy claw, the obigitory chains and pointy bits and maybe sculpting some faces/skulls/icons on various armor plates. Good luck! I'll stay tuned!

I like the idea of skulls and additional icons but I'm no good with GS so we will see how it comes out cutting up bits and using them.

Lennysmash wrote:Yeah second the more claw like fists, perhaps the khorne symbol on the knee pad and where the name is on this one perhaps sculpt the bottom half of a skull with the helmet forming the top of the skull.

I'm not sure I can pull off the claw fists, I'll be painting on some Khorne symbols, I did have a look at the FW brass sheet but their version of the symbol isn't what I'm after I prefer the old school version. The skull idea sounds really nice but sadly not something I will be able to pull off.

Not sure If I will have much of an update this weekend as I'm busy out and about doing summer things, never know I might surprise you though.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Well I did get some work in on the World Eaters Contemptor Dreadnought although my GW super glue has turned into goo, so I wont be doing much glueing this weekend unless I can find some on my travels tomorrow.

Here's the main body with skulls and shoulder pads type bits, I intend to try and engrave the Khorne symbol in the middle not sure how yet.

This is the base he will be going on. The green plastic will remain that colour, they are going to be a sort of power rod/supply type thing.

I am going to try and have him carrying a Death Company marine in his right power fist, I havent started playing with the arms yet though.

You know there's a work-around for the auto append as long as you have a picture to post.

Do tell gits! Happens to me all the time!

Contemptor looks fab, The skulls work really well on it!

Make sure you don't get paint on those green tubes if you are leaving them on when you paint the base!

Nice start Giraffex, the skulls across the top are ace. You could try engraving with a dremel, although I don't know how well it will work on resin. I look forward to seeing more

Hard to do from my phone... Rather than cutting and pasting the pic addy as normal out of the gallery, add your pic as an attachment by using the tabs below the pane where you type your text.

Hope that helps, sorry... best I can do given my current circumstances.

I've been busy tonight working on the Contemptor Dreadnought. He's all put together now but I still need to do some more spikes and skulls over the next few days.

He's carrying a Death Company marine in his right hand that he picked up in battle as a souvenir.

I have decided to paint the Khorne symbol on his chest, I have a cool idea for this which you will have to wait and see

Sorry pics are not great as my lighting is poor at night but they are only WIP pics so I hope you can see it ok.

The cold reaches of space

I like the idea of the contemptor in khorne-flake flavor. The mods are pretty damn sweet on it, I must say.

However, I gotta say the pose is somewhat static... It might just be me, and you may prove me totally wrong (to which I'd gladly bow to your expertise), but I see Khorne, I think berzerker barbarian. I'd expect a more dynamic pose- one foot forward, back leg on the tippy-toe, dread beating its armored chest with the dead DC marine, or a vicious roar pose (see Fable 2 "evil" expressions)... the standing upright is just... unnatural to me.

But other than the pose, the dread has been converted nicely. I'm looking to the paint-job. You going pre or post heresy World Eater?

Keep 'em coming, GiraffeX!

Thanks guys he does have a bit more movement in him but its not picked up in the pictures. I'll get some better pics from his other side tomorrow when I get home from work.

Remi your pose examples did make me laugh, they are very good ideas. I'll take them into consideration when I do the other Khorne Contemptor Dreadnought (where did that come from?). I just had an idea for it actually posed kneeling on one knee with its fist on the ground in a kind of a "you want a fight, bring it!" pose after wrecking some dread or vehicle of some sort.

He's going to be done in a post heresy paint scheme.

I kind of will make my World Eaters a close combat army 2 big units of berserkers 2 close combat dreads and a unit of close combat terminators.

Speaking of berserkers I picked up the FW berserker upgrade kit and some plastic berserker shoulder pads and heads from ebay for bits to mix in to make 20 berserkers but the plastic stuff is really tacky compared to the FW kit.

Do you think they will mix ok or should I get another FW kit?

Heres a pic of my first berserker.

Yeah sounds like a good idea Miss Dee its hard trying to figure out a good position to put the dread in to make it look like he using the DC as a weapon.

You could having him swinging the DC by its leg, I dont know ideas on a postcard please.

Here's another not very good pic from his other side.

No new work on him tonight I'm afraid.

Here's the Flawless Host Sorcerer that I converted up today, she will lead one of the units of World Eater Berserker's when they have their first game so will be painted up along side them and the Contemptor.

Her left arm looks a bit bigger than the right but its a spiked glove from the Wyche box and is slightly bigger than the normal arms which are the same size as her normal one if you know what I mean

I've added a few more spikes and a few chains to the back of the Contemptor, I'll post a pic tomorrow if I finish assembling the first berserker squad. There's not much to see though, its going to be down to the paint job to pull off the rest.

*bursts though room with axe* HEEEAAARRRS JHONNY!!!

Ace models man, im really liking the thousand sons troops.

And the contemptor

Here is a tip you might find useful for your contemptor, you might like:

Add chains to the bottom of the body, and add a dead body to the base (use a race that you don't see everyday like DE or necron)

Hope your army goes well for you.

Thanks happygolucky glad you like the Thousand Sons.

I did look at putting chains on the bottom of the body but it looked a bit dodgy on the Contemptor as its a bit more human shaped than the normal box dreadnoughts. I have added some hanging off the back from the exhaust housing though.

The body is a good idea I might do it on my next dread as this one has a lot of things going on already, cheers.

Here's a shot of the finished berserker squad, Contemptor dread and sorceress before I finished the basing and primed them.

I've also finished the basing on my Sumo in my mini project log as well.

I finished painting the Death Company marine that goes into the hand of the Contemptor dread last night.

The way I painted the gold came out really nicely I think, thanks to Emperors_Champion for the idea all the way back on the first page of this blog. I do keep all the ideas you give me

I was intending to paint a special model after every five berserker's but I may end up doing the dread first, I can't wait to start painting it.

Yeah Dreadknights are nice I want to build something like the GW Daemon Prince/Knight using bits from both kits for an Iron Warrior DP. I plan on using different wings though.

From GW's site converted by Donald McCallum

That's my basis for my daemon prince... but I'm going to create rocket boosters in his greaves and his back and then add some guns and a minigun to make him look like war machine

All good ideas-though it MUST have a helmeted/masked head!

Yeah the Darkside is winning by a mile at the moment.

The Sorceress is a Warmachine model, cygnar constance blaize, knight of the prophet

I liked painting the DC marine and felt like doing a squad of them after how happy I was with that guy.

Will you add some OSL on the dread arm from the sword, or is it a little to far away?

I think it will be too far away and its pointing away from the dread.

I will be doing OSL from the green power source running along the middle of the base though.

As Miss Dee says its from Warmachine from the Cygnar range the name of the character is Constance Blaize, Night of the Prophet.

Here's a link to the mini on Maelstrom, both arms are separate from the main model.
