I've watched a number of LBursley's youtube vids on painting and it's inspired me to pick up the brush again. The marine in the full tabard was previously painted and i'm using that as a rough standard for the rest of the army. My goal is 5 marines a week along with 1 vehicle a month until I've got all my stuff painted so I'll see how that goes. Anyways, here's the first few marines each being a base standard for each squad, 1 jump marine, 1 sword brother, 1 CC marine, and a potential HQ type marine.

The holidays are a bad time to attempt a WIP blog. Seems like everytime I attempt to pick up a brush something is going on and I have to sit it down. I did manage to get a little bit done though, not the 5 models a week, but close. Got a new cam too that I'm still trying to figure out how to take better pictures with. The first pic didn't turn out so well, tried to use white background to make the black stand out but it just turned out awful.

The next one came out much better after fooling with some settings. I've also had a change of heart. I'm thinking I might do the weapons in red instead of the drybrushed boltgun metal. What do you guys think? Does the red give them a bit more flavor? Anyways, I hope to get some shoulder pads on them and highlight them by the end of the week.

Nice. But one word. CRUSADERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you making Black Templars or a new Chapter that is a crusading chapter. There are quite alot of them. 5,000 is the basic amount of a Crusader Chapter.
Nice job with the paint. Are you making your crusade based on what?

From whom are unforgiven we bring the mercy of war.

Yea, they are black templars. I haven't decided exactly what the crusade is based on yet. I think I'll just go with the standard, "to purge the galaxy of the xenos... blah blah" routine. I've got some crusade iconography sketched out for all of them, but that will be painted on last.

In response to what you said first though, there will definately be a lot of crusaders coming. Just wanted to flesh out a bolter squad first to decide what my exact color scheme will be in regards to weapons/crusade icons etc.

Big news on my personal homefront, I got a promotion! However, I now work more hours and my modelling/painting has suffered dearly. I'm going to have to take it down a notch and go with 3 models a week just to be fair to myself. Even saying 3 models a week I probably won't be able to complete that, but it's a much more reasonable goal now. Anyways, here's my current progress...

And two models that are assembled awaiting some paint:

I also said I'd be doing a vehicle or equivalent a month, so there's an old dreadnought I halfway assembled and barely painted that will be seeing the light of day soon...

Reviving a long dead thread with some fresh images. For some reason got the bug to model/paint again and cobbled together some models with the BT/BA kits. Still a ways to go on some of these. Still got 4 others that I'm working on at the same time, but I'm far too lazy to post that many pictures.

Looking forward to some C&C!

Very striking... really dynamic with the black and the clean, clean reds and white.

Wow, it would've been a loss for the Hobby to lose such an artist as your are!

Those minis are crisp & vibrant, the kitbashing works pretty well and the colours are really nice!

I hope you'll keep on posting this time!

Thanks for the kind words!

I figured some might not like the hand flamers on the BT but I felt like they looked pretty good, and could simply be counts as weapons. I don't play tournaments really so I don't build my models for wysiwyg.

Wow, you sir, are amazing.

This scheme makes me go O.O

This is hands down my favorite color scheme out of all I've ever seen, and your painting skills are fantastic.

Hey guys. Haven't had a huge amount of time for painting. When I do have time I'm still trying to work on my reds. I started up the Marshal's banner, and dusted off an old primed cyclone launcher terminator that I clearly assembled wrong some two years ago or so. Sorry, not much of an update. Got a week off coming up soon, so should be getting a lot of work done then!

PS. yes I know, I need a camera and a lightbox. Soon, soon!

As this is a Templar/Crimson Fists progress log I figure it's time I posted some crimson fists I've been working on for some time.

These guys are meant to be honor guard for Pedro. Hopefully I'll complete these soon, but my Templars keep getting in the way.

Back in action once again! After a long break, got some Grey Knights of awesomeness in the works. Very early progress, but I'm excited to put the brush to them. Grey knights started it all for me around 6 years ago! Plans are to get a squad of 10 purifiers going, and some of the Interceptors too, just because the fiddly backpacks look like they'll be fun to paint. The guy with the warding stave is going to be my librarian of doom. I'll probably lose the blue wash in favor of regular ole black, just really not satisfied with it. More to come soon!
