is that really enough boys in a 2000 point game?
i guess im used to seeing a mob of 30.

i'm working on my list atm and wasnt sure about this. i know that i will have support from bikes, copters etc but this just had me second guessing myself.

That's not many boyz at all. You're losing a lot of the advantages that boyz have, which mainly follow from quantity, such as firepower, assault power, stamina, and Fearlessness. They'll have a hard time holding objectives.

Where possible it would be an idea to put mobs of twenty in Battlewagons. Or possibly take a couple of Nobz Mobz as Troops in Battlewagons. Or even some Nobz Mobz in Trukks so you have something like six Trukks, and six Battlewagons moving forward.

Consider writing an article for the article system. That way you have all your advice in one place and can refer people to it in a single link.

sorry dash... i have looked at most of those and actually spoken to you about my force.
i was just thinking out loud i guess.

i guess my basic problem is that i'd really like to be able to use all of the figs that.
shoota boys
choppa boys
2 trucks
a battlewagon
bikes
and copters

this could easily be made into a mech list with the addition of probably another bw and some trucks but on the flip side of this i would also really like to go foot sloggers but then id be stuck with 2 worthless trucks, some bikes and copters. im pretty sure a BW would be ok in a foot force though.

i agree dash, being a fan of some of your tactics and opinions, i do think it would be best if you made a more accessible compilation of your ideas and thoughts. put one together and put it in the orks tactica thread.

With a power Klaw eavy armor boss poll nob the 6 squads of truk mounted boys are only 906 points.

6 truks full of boys leaves a lot of points for other stuff in a 1750 point game, let alone a 2,000

In a 1750 point game the 6 truk list still has 850 points left to spend on the following.

Warboss or Big Mek
Battlewagons with 10 meganobs,
Battlewagons with a kannon and 12 burnas or tankbustas.
Battlewagons without a kannon and 15 burnas or tankbustas plus an HQ.
Nob bikers

There are plenty of ways to make a good list with all of the possibilities.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Schadenfreude is right, you have to fill the FOC.
Kommandoz would also be a nice add-on to cause havoc behind enemy lines.

Grots are a great way to hold your own objective. They end up being a bunch of very inexpensive wounds that can still take 4+ cover saves. Considering that the Boyz will be taking the fight to the other table edge, there won't be much opportunity to clean the grots up in CC.

I have not played with trukk boys yet, but I am going to. If you have a wierdboy in your army, you do have the ability to get all they way across the table on the first turn. I play alot against Nids, and the big blasts take out a lot of foot sloggers along the way across the board. With the trukks and a 12" deploy zone on both sides you can get into assualt in the first turn with the boys. If you can just roll that 6 for the wierd boys psy. attack. 12" deploy zone + 12" movement + 1" RPJ + 2" disembarking + 6" Waaagh + 6" assault that is a total of 39 inches. So if your opponent has placed his units farther than 9" from the table edge the boys can be in CC the first turn. That is awesome.
