Hmm I do have a white dwarf from when they were released. I'll hunt it out and see if I can't give you original price.

Yeah it'll be more economical to buy a 3d printer.

I shouldn't talk. I don't have one, and I too buy silly things for silly prices, but just need to note that.

As someone that has zero interest in owning/maintaining/learning 3d printing, but didn't own anything to do with MESBG until part way through lockdown, decided one day that collecting it would be a good way to spend the time stuck at home, but now owns I'd say approximately 75-80% of the entire range ever made, I'm more than happy to see the made to orders. 3d printers might be economical, but for me would have zero joy.

Yes, they the MTO are costly but not as silly priced for what they would cost me for second hand. And as the large resin stuff is the some of the hardest to come by on the second hand market, and what I'm missing from my collection and I would love to be able to cross these off my collection list.

Well I found an old WD that had the Helms Deep listed. $100AUD as of Jan '03. Didn't have prices list for other countries though, so I don't know what it would have been in the US/UK.
I keep my eye out for them on the usual sites, and I've never seen one go for less then $450AUD.

That would probably have put it at around the £75 mark at the time. Which sounds about right. Can't imagine it costing less than £150 at the current time though.

Nothing earth-shattering, but Army of Thror got an upgrade to be allowed to take 50% of their warriors with hand weapons, so you can bring more Grim Hammers if you want. They also nerfed Depths of Moria's Drums in the Deep ability to once per game, and adjusted a couple of other things.

No mention of Eagles Piercing Cry? That's one hell of a nerf / normalisation.

Depths of Moria nerf is HUGE.

The White Hand too was nerfed as Grima was a real pain.

I really want the metal Fellowship, but the timing is awful as I'm completely tapped out for another week and a half

Yeah timings not great for me either. I'm quite fortunate in that I only need the Three Hunters. So I should be able to swing just them.

Of course I'd love to get my hands on Amon Sul and Amon Hen, but they'll be priced ridiculously, so not liking my chances.

Oh yeah, that's a fun and totally not depressing game to play.

I bought both Attack at Weathertop and Ambush at Amon Hen last time they went up for MTO in April '22 and Jan '21 respectively. AaW was $135AUD and AaAH was $119AUD. The Weathertop Scenery piece was, when I last checked a few years ago, a teeth grinding $590AUD. I don't have a definite number for Amon Hen, but from memory it was roughly $300AUD.

My predictions this time around in AUD.
OG metal Fellowship - $150.
Attack at Weathertop - $160.
Ambush at Amon Hen - $180ish.
Three Hunters - $80.

Now I'm not sure that GW has ever included FW items in a MTO have they? Middle-earth or just generally. I'm going to place figures conservatively and say.
Weathertop - $650ish (My gut says go way higher though)
Amon Hen - $400.

Yeah, on second thoughts I ain't paying £40 for the three hunters. Classic models, but nah.

OG Fellowship - $139
Ambush at Amon Hen - $150
Attack at Weathertop - $139
Three Hunters - $100
Amon Hen - $405
But Jesus wept, Weathertop - $798

$70 was my limit on the Three Hunters. I'll just find them... elsewhere now I think. With no small amount of luck maybe elsewhere might also have a Weathertop and Amon Hen available....

The price on that Weathertop is absolutely insane, considering you can play maybe two scenarios on it.

Weathertop is startlingly expensive even for FW resin. I can't imagine they will get much sold...

They don't have to sell much. In fact it very likely made its cost back the first time around. A couple of dozen and i'd expect they'd be extremely happy.

Is resin even really a suitable material for something that massive? It must weigh so much!

I'd rather make my own out of foam any day.

It is big and heavy, but everyone i've seen that has one builds an entire board around it. So it's the whole table essentially

I saw the prices quoted in this thread and thought GW had finally lost their minds, then I realized those prices were in Aussie dollarydoos. The USD prices are high but not quite that insane.

OT, but I got an Elegoo centauri carbon and it sucked the big one, and they replaced it and that shat the bed too, so i ended up getting my money back and spent it on another Bambu.

Bambu - it's worth the little extra (tm).
