I've been checking out your forums for a while seeing LOTS of interesting builds and always enjoy checking out what you guys are building. And a couple friends have been telling me to set up an account and start showing stuff off so I figure its time to do so:

Alright, so Deathstrike Missile Launcher; basic principal giant missile mounted to Chimera chassis. While completely pissed ((by which I mean drunk)) I had the grand idea of firing up power tools, yeah I know. Anyway so I fired up the wood lathe and turned a fuselage to match the design in the book. A few bits of plasticard and bits from the bits bin and whallah; the Deathstrike Missile was built. But to finish it, it required a launcher; now I didn't want to dedicate an entire chassis to just ONE model I'll likely use in a few Apoc games, I got the idea to take one of the guns from the many bastians I have but never use and make a pivoting launcher out of it. It would also match up to the AEGIS stand for the quad autocannon's that is mounted to one of my chimeras to become a Hydra. Now it has choice in weapons!

A touch of primer and to start the painting, as well as some magnets to secure the missile to the launcher:

Plans for being fun "ACME" has been suggested, though not sure yet; though I am going a head with building a "rider" for it complete with stetson.

That's awesome! It looks like it'll tip the Chimera over!

While I applaud you multi-tasking your Chimera chassis that way, I think the launcher looks too spindly to be holding up that great big missile. Maybe you could build more infrastructure around the launcher, although keep the same connection and footprint with the chassis. That way it looks beefier, but you can still use the chassis for a Manticore or Hydra.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

And heaven forbid if the Marine would also happen to have an intimidating looking, vertical scar. Then you're surly boned. Those guys are the worst. Not a chance I'd say.

If that rocket is made of wood, then is the chimera filled with sand to balance it out?

Overall very nice work, however it needs more pomposity, as we all know, in the grim darkness of the far future, the deadlier something is, the more pompous it gets!

To those that have asked; the missile is made out of wood, as I said I was completely pissed drunk ((I should also add this was on Xmas day just past and all I really remember of making it was coming into the house and everyone at the party, more sober than I, wondering where I was and why I was completely covered in sawdust)).

The idea has crossed my mind to make several to sell off where people could build their own mounts, fins, etc. And just sell them the fuselage since its really not that hard for me to turn them. There's been no modification to the Chimera chassis other than instead of the Chimera it's just got the AEGIS on the back ((its more like the basi chassis since it doesn't have the turrent mount up front either, just the hatch ring.)) IE. no sand, this thing just balances there; and the joint for that gun is still pivoting and free moving.

Are those... hand rails on the missile? Please tell me you're modeling a cowboy to ride that beast into the enemy lines!
