Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Hey everyone!

So my wife and I have our first anniversary tomorrow. She bought me a P.A.C.K 1520 from Battlefoam (www.battlefoam. com) that's customized for my Dark Eldar army (so that the foam inserts are cut specifically for my raiders and bikes and stuff).

I made a list of 365 reasons why I love her and wrote them all down on post-it notes and stuck them in a box so that every day for the next year she can take one out and read a different reason why I think she's the most awesome woman ever.

Anyone else out there with a spouse that supports your 40k or even plays too?

My wife supports my gaming habit(she's the only one, my parents think it's something I'll "grow out of") and is the only person to still buy me gaming stuff for holidays.

Wow, she gave you an awesome gift and . . . well, I'll just shut up.

Fiancee got me sub to WD this Christmas. I got her a Pandora bracelet and some charms. So, I have the reverse situation.

I've managed to get my Girlfriend to paint a few of my models, (she likes painting and art in general), and she supports me enjoying my geeky hobbies for the most part. I couldn't get her to play if her life depended on it though lol. And I'm sure if we had any money she'd buy me a kit once in a while.

My wife and I don't celebrate our first anniversary until May. But, she enjoys 40k a good bit. She even bought me a Wierdboy as a late birthday present.

Congrats on making it 1 year. They always say the first few are the toughest but you can do it.

Good luck.

I have a wife of going-on 4 years that not only doesn't dislike my hobby, actively encourages it, and doesn't limit my spending if it is reasonable.

{Note: This ties in with my thinking on Reasonable. FW does not count as reasonable.}

In return - I get to assemble and paint stuff for her when she likes it [She's not just into princess and dragons. She likes models with bits that move - so she has her own valkyrie - and Octagons are her favourite geometric shape - so it has a skyshield as well].

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Congratulationson the first year. Was the adjustment period rough or did you pretty much know each other's quirks when you got married?
My wife built me a gaming table and sets up snacks and whatnots for when I find time to play. She's even tried a few games against me and seems to prefer the Dark Eldar.

My wife actually paints too - I do all the assembling, gluing, converting....and she does most of the painting. We'll sit around at night watching a movie or a T.V. show and work on our models. She has orks, but hasn't played them in a while because of the poor quality of the gamers / lack of friendliness where we came from.

Well done

My wife is not really interested in Warhammer (FB or 40K), though I bought her a Wood Elf army to paint (which she has not in over a year, ah well - but some of that is down to not having any space for her to paint, at least, that is her excuse ).

Our flat is quite small and I already take up an entire room with Warhammer stuff, so I don't think that she would buy me anything else.

Although she is tolerant of my gaming, and likes it when my brother comes over to play sometimes.

I am glad you managed to find someone to support you and for you to support in return

We're not married (yet), but my girlfriend plays WH40K as much as I do and paints far better than me.

That's a very cool gift (on both sides) Dashofpepper

Mine does actually and I am thankfull for it. All she asks is if she ask's for something I get it for her. She seldom does and when she does it's usually something for the Wii so I never complain. On a rare occassion jewelry.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!
