So I am starting my second scratch built Deff Dread and I am toying with the idea of having this head sticking out of the top somehow.

So yes or no or suggestions.

Oi!! Which Butt'n makes dis ting go!?!

In order to be sure, we'd have to see where all the arms and weapons are supposed to go so we can see how the whole thing will be balanced. Those are some pretty boss scratchbuilt legs, though. Does your Dred just kick stuff as a pair of DCCWs?

Bear in mind that I'm a very casual player, and any advice I give will reflect that tendency.

I like the idea but I think it would look better with a gunner looking guy like in the Battlewagon kit.

@alanedomain - I was planning on 2 close combat arms coming out of the bottom somehow and then 2 shootie types weapons on the top somehow. I have not really worked all that out yet.

Off with the head... it looks like your deff dread has epilepsy and ADD, staring off into space like that....

Things I've gotten other players to admit...

@Dronze - yea, the head does look a little bit like he is just staring off into nowhere but he is just kinda sitting there for now. If I do it he will probably at least get shoulders to go with the head.

Here is a pic of what I am gunning for with the weapons. The arms will be coming out of the bottom and I cant put those in real fast so sorry.

Those are some sweet legs. The Dread should look real cool, though the head may look a bit wierd sticking out the top. Personally, I would have the batlewagon comander sticking out the top with his binoculars. That could look cool.

EVIL EVIL DAKKA-EMU!

Looks pretty good so far, our p-card-fu is quite good reminds me of the star-wars thing that is smaller than an at-st (can't remember the exact thing)

To be fair I'd say ditch the rokkits on the one side, it seems a little tacked-on. I was going to suggest putting the CCW where the dread's legs normally go, could look quite interesting hanging down underneath velociraptor style

Zero, the rokkits and the gun are just tacked on to kinda show where I am going with the weapons.
Changes are going on as I type.

Thanks for the imput folks. I am gonna axe the head but I am going with a grot coming out of a hatch or something of the likes. I have added arms and will be adding the other dakka later.

You can check out the WIP here.

Sorry didn't realise it was a concept thing lol

I like the idea of the grot-pit, Have you thought about having the gunz mounted where they are but on turrets?

What about putting the Trukk driver on the inside and leaving the front open?

If you're going to have something coming out of the top, you should not leave the front open. It'll be obvious that his legs aren't where they should be.

at this point I may be in a pickle. lol

I have cut the front open and there will be an ork driver and a grot coming out of a hatch at the top.

My issue is I with I would have dealt with that issue before I put the dread body together. We shall see if it wirks out. ::shrugs::

If you're having a problem with it, just cut out the bottom.
Do all the work you need to on the inside, then reattach it. Use plastic glue, and the connection will be as good as new. Also, you can use some plasticatr to cover any spots where you can't file ot smooth after joining it back together.

I think it looks like an Ork head on top of a Dreadnought.

I would go for a more implanted driver looking out through the front part.
