Both of these are superb.

I'm buying some of their range (O&G ones initially) as the just kill GW character models for quality.

Under the couch

I had initially started out buying each AoW mini as it was released, just for different stuff to paint (Don't play WHFB at present, but these were just too good to pass up). Had to give it a miss when my hobby budget dropped, but would like to get back to it after the wedding stops sapping all available cash...

I love the Savage Orc one. Do they do sci-fi/grimdark style stuff?

These figures look superb. Are they as good as they look - have yet to get my mitts on any AoW.
can see me getting a few if they live up to expectations.

Have to admit, I have just ordered the Dark Elf sorceress, not because I have an army , but just on the grounds that my daughter and I thought it sooooo cooool!
Have also ordered the gobbo hero. Arrival is immanent and can't wait

WHY doesn't he sculpt for GW itself?

Or, is he making too much money this way?

Either way - whatever keeps him happy and producing!

I thought I read that he used to sculpt for GW and they got rid of him...

Bit of a blunder if so.

I'd heard that too, so I guess I should have written "Why doesn't he STILL sculpt for GW?"

His work is amazing!

That's what happens when you start making models based upon what comes out of Mark Gibbon's mind. If only GW had made all of his concept sketches into reality...

Gibbon's artwork is possibly my favourite of all. The Bloodaxe warboss is for sale on his website for a mere £700 and I occasionally go there and stare at it, wondering what horrible things Mrs Stompa would do to me if I bought it...

Also the Witch Elf and the early Morathi from the previous, previous dark elf book. The Fabius Bile picture... Yep, he's a great artist.

Oh and he did the artwork for the game Primal, which is possibly my favourite solo game of all time.

I read that the guy who sculpts these actually still sculpts for GW. He just does these in his own time and at his own pace.

Really?

What has GW put out recently that's his?

Certainly not anything in the Beastmen line...

As far i know Felix used to sculpt for GW, but due to reduce costs they get rid of him because he was the "youngest" sculptor, i mean the one working for the shortest time for them.
Pretty stupid idea imho.

The Dark Elf Queen (not sorceress as previously stated) arrived this morning! YAY!

Having only seen the figures on the screen it was a bit of a shock to see how small she is, the detail is so good.
Am looking forward to getting started and hope my paint job will do the sculpting justice.

Dear AoW, please do sci-fi stuff, pretty please!

I'm sure they'd do a stunning Ork warboss or flash git.

*Ahem*

I'm sure you mean... Post Apocalyptic Orc Battleboss or Post Apocalyptic Orc Pirate Raider with heavy weapon.

Yep, I'd love to see them. Unfortunately when you get to power armour characters, you drift very close to the GW owned imagery.

Lol, I think "Future Orc showoff's" would be easy to avoid copyright on since they have kustomised everything, they can make it look however they want and no one could say it's wrong. As long as it's cool as hell I certainly wouldn't care.

Yeah, it would be sick if he did some 40K figures, particularly if he did them with common weapon options. Maybe an Ork Warboss with slugga and Power Klaw?

And then an Autrarch with whatever you give an Autrarch to not suck?

Am I the only one who finds the anatomy on those models off? As a medical student, I can't help but notice that the muscles (biceps and triceps) on the outstretched arm look wrong. It's the same on the savage orc, the walking orc warlord, and the chaos marauder character. They all have the same pose and same unnatural anatomy.

It ruins an otherwise superb model for me.

Went digging through my old posts, and guess what? I've been hating on mat ward since before it was cool

Sorry, I can't say it bothers me all that much. Could be because I lack the detailed knowledge of anatomy. Or possibly because other companies' miniatures are even worse.

The supply does not get to make the demands.
