My case of being too immersed in 40k was when I watched "I Am Number Four" with my friends, and looked at the alien weapons as plasma weapons almost immediately. The similarities really are uncanny

when in your 3d modeling class where someone was supposed to model a speedy looking household object, you want to suggest that they paint the object red instead of whatever color they used, for the reason that red ones go fasta.

Also, when you have a 40k forum quote that relates to almost any topic that is brought up in conversation.

You know you play too much 40k when you win tournaments on a regular basis.

Edit: Or should that be just when you win tournaments at all?

You know yo play too much 40k when you make a working power weapon, power fist, exaultus rifle... and use said weapon at a real life tournament

If it's not flashy, it's not magic -marisa (touhou)

i don't care about the terminators over there... just take a look at them when 16 heavy bolters slam into them....

i draw... not that well, but it's okay....

I am curious is a highly resistant and tough wire fed with a very high current as a sword blade plus something to keep the surrounding air cool would actually work.

When you are in drafting class using Autodesk Inventor and you make a bolter instead of your project
or while using the same program add "more dakka" to whatever your project is, when your teacher asks respond "Makin' it proppa"

I've done this multiple times, my teacher now responds "skulls for the skull throne!" whenever he hears me mutter blood for the blood god when working on projects.

I think that was a collaboration between the two. It's rare, but it happens. Like an STD that makes you bleed and horribly scars and disfigures you, leaving your life permanently changed. That's one of the rarest, as all 4 came together for that.

After studying for an international tax exam for 8 hours a day for a few days,

You start having weird dreams of the interplanetary tax relationships between the Imperium of Man and the T'au Empire... And wheter a certain T'au corporation is a passive foreign investment company.

You know that it would be really bad if the T'au Corporation was a PFIC, but you can't recall why...

EDIT:

Slightly off topic, but you know you've played too much nethack when you start refering to Mephiston or Ahriman as Rodney. and Great Unclean Ones as Demogorgon
