The price has unfortunately been adjusted to $24...apparently resin is made from raw cocaine or something!!

In a collaborative effort Threadheadz and I have made an alien Spore Pod.
This can be used as terrain or to represent a unit in a certain well known GW codex.



They are cast in resin with a foam core. The estimated cost will be 18$ or 13€ + postage and should be available from next week.

In the nearest future an alternate closed Spore Pod will be released and an open one is also right around the corner.

The size was chosen intentionally. Size-wise it is right between Plasma Hatchers (which a lot of people currently use) and the SM Drop Pod (which is the nearest comparable model of similar function).

I intend to wait to see the Chapterhouse ones first.....

I think this is very well done. Seen plenty of stand-ins that didn't even look the part.

We don't have site yet, first batch will most likely go thru eBay.

We are really close to release and this (and other threads) not only serves as a taster of what to come, but also a sort of "this is our design"

You want them SMALLER than that? Not me, nor most Nid players I would guess. Cover from Pods will make them well worth their points.

Yak if you look in the middle of the pod floor it looks like a nub you can attach a warriors or ravanors body to for the weapon sentience

the closed ones look awesome...

The nub in the middle of the open one is a placeholder for what will be a slightly taller column with a small hole at the top, allowing for placement of any weapon one desires.

When it comes to the closed ones, we debated whether to make some suitably rippy tentacles, but due to the difficulty in casting such a thing we decide to make holes in the "claws" that could conceivably shoot some kind of spines which can represent anything really. The holes really just present a point from which to measure LOS.
We realize that this can present some WYSIWYG problems in tournaments and as such the open one might be the preferred model in that case.

it is a monsterous creature, not a vehicle, so it doesnt have fire points, so the hole placement doesnt matter.

We know. Think of it as the creatures "eyes".

These are very nice.

If people want to make grabbing tentacles, for instance, it can easily be done with some flex or twine and PVA adhesive.
