See... on ebay... there are those warhammer bits tempting us at 0.99 starting price ...
and so often just the last 15 seconds before auction ends , everyone gets into a bidding frenzy ,
partly because its fun and partly because you now NEED this specific item to finish completing your model.
Thus very often , its hard to tell whether you end up saving money or not -_-
some items you save , some you dont , and ultimately , buying a whole kit usually give you wanted extra bits as well...
I think i went overboard again ... ( was happy from selling the FW items ) and before i know it...
the bits added to:
Im still in a state of shock , so hopefully i wont order bits for a long time...

Luna... How on earth can 51 different bits and bobbles auctions amount to $323.34!?!?!?!?
I applaud thee for doing what I never could. Spend more than a few dollars on bits.

Yes, i checked prices , the bits from warstore , bits barn , and other bit sites are atleast 2x - 4x more expensive than my winning bid.
( i use that to compare my max bid vs how much it would cost say vs discount price for whole box )

i've used Bitsbarn alot and haven't had issues. i 've heard others complain. i wouldn't hesitate to use them again. but like you pointed out, it's cheaper on Feebay than anywhere else. Well, unless Don_mondo is having a bidding war that is...

Well , as you know im very bad at the hobby aspect , actually i dont even play ,
so im bad at warhammer period. Thus for example , people magnetize things , i dont have the tools to.
So instead i get extra sets for the options.
so LR stuff , valkyrie wings , valkyrie cockpit ( because mine messed up T-T ) stompa guns , predator sponsons because i lost one some how
vehicle casings , well for $6 for a base , or $6 for a whole vehicle casing i can use as base
etc etc , it just adds up fast

Second funny thing about living 30 minutes from the Warstore: I haven't gone there yet. I mostly haunt Men at Arms hobby shop; which is where the Warstore owner used to go before he became a big time distributor. Now Men at Arms is a customer of the Warstore. I'd have to say that Men at Arms launched most of the east end of Long Island gaming during the middle of it's 27 year existence (along with I-Con) and was a direct influence on the warstore's emergence. The reason I don't order from the Warstore YET is that I'm only into month 4 of my 40k wargaming. I will go out there someday, and I will get you a nice picture of what it looks like from the inside. EDIT: I don't think it is a LGS. Everything east of Brothers Grimm/former Monkey Head Gaming is dead in terms of local stores catering to local players, so I would be very suprised if the Warstore hosts local gaming.

Have noticed that some items on ebay get pushed upto and even over the retail price when factoring in postal charges.
Is this due to the thrill of the chase and people getting carried away or is it due to the competitive nature of wargammers?
The initial cheapo starting price is fine but then you pay twice that for postage.
Also if somene puts a bid in for 99phennigs then it looks cheap and enticing, but of course you already are going to pay more and so the price creeps up.
Have learned to stick a bid in once and try to resist the temptation to go higher. Doesn't always work ) If I get outbid good luck to the other fellow.
The long list of bits also seems a tad strange. Don't people exchange spares? (sorry not checked out the wants/sales sections)
I have sent fellow modellers aircraft parts at my own expense, but that has been reciprocated when I have requested help for stuff.

Usually bit sellers cycle their bits to make it easier to re-list items.
For example , if i manage to get half a land raider as bits , i might feel compelled to bit on the other bits to "finish"
the land raider. And sometimes the same bit that a buyer needs , wont be available for another week ( just example )
or perhaps it'll be listed in a time that they cant bid , or perhaps they just dont have the patience or want to take the chance a week later
to be stuck at the same situation they are in now.
So ultimately they might say " ... ok... i'll just bit this today and get it over with "

Get that for sure- done it myself!
a bird in the hand and all that
Am in need of a pair of lascannon for a Razorback. It only has half of one.
There are a couple on ebay at the moment, but the dilemma is i have already spent a fair bit lately, and there are plenty more tempting goodies
£3 + postage seems a lot for not much plastic
But then again I'm a tight fisted
and I fancy a go at sctratching them but then do I have the time
did you get a replacement canopy Luna?
not clear if you bagged one.
