I was just wondering about how many of the members smoke and thought to myself: Why not make a poll? So here it is

I do, mostly cigars and pipes though. That being said I am not one to turn down a cigarette or even buy a pack on occasion....

I smoke,I have for some considerable time,fully aware of all the health risk...still grab a cigarette first thing in the morning.

Well, I'd expected people to be more bitchy about the subject. I was positively surprised

I do not smoke. I am visibly disturbed when people smoke around me, but I do my best to duck and cover out of the room. I *try* not to be disrespectful to those who smoke, but this is coming from a guy who jumped out of moving vehicle, had my aunt who smokes almost punch my mother over the subject, and tries to hold thine breath until out of a room just to avoid smoking.

I know the sociohistorical significance of smoking as a cultural mainstay and as a biochemical interaction with the human body.

That said, I let others smoke, but not around me.

Someone smokes, they smoke.

I ain't gonna stop them.

That being said, I think a few unwritten rules need to be followed.

1) Don't blow smoke directly in someone's face.
2) Don't put the cig out on a table. (I've seen people do it, when an ashtray is right there, and it annoys the hell outta me.)


Something that really pisses me off about smokers though, is when someone who's like 13 smokes a pack a day.
I know I'm a hypocrite for saying something like that, given my love of alcohol, but it still pisses me off. Wait till you'r sixteen kid, then smoke.

I drink enough alcohol for three people. I don't need any other vices. That said, I do smoke when people offer and I happen to be very drunk. Mostly its about overpowering the flavor of cheap vodka and red bull. Though I suppose that the latter ingredient is also a vice.

Of alcohol and smoking, which would you consider the greater vice? I myself have less of a problem with drinking than smoking, but overall I tend to be a fairly sober, drug free and smoke free person.

I don't smoke because I know of the health risks,it's a waste of my money and time and I don't like the taste in your mouth.I don't like alchohol either.

I used to smoke a lot, between a pack and 2 packs a day, years ago. I gradually weened myself off of it and have been a "non-smoker" for over 2 years. If other people smoke, I don't have a big problem with it (secretly, I'm jealous). Drinking is very common at my place and empty can day can be quite the embarrassment for the ol'lady. If I were to do it all over again, I'd smoke, because smoking is cool, and try and develop a cigarette that heals your lungs rather than destroys them.

My attitude towards vice is fairly cavalier, so I don't really have a hierarchy of vices. However, I definitely feel like there is a greater social stigma with regard to smoking. Unless you're like me; occasionally imbibing before noon.

I neither smoke or drink, mainly due to the health risks, but I also see both habits as unecessary, time and money wasting, and does more harm than good.

I hate tobacco.

I do no smoke. But I love the smell of pipe tobacco.

Also you should add a third category for people that only smoke marijuana.

Is it just the mariguana or any other type of drugs, or do we need separate categories for the severity of each drugs in terms of associated health risks and addictability?

I used to blow smoke, steam and fire out of my ears, but that seems to have cleared up. What happened to Gwar! anyway?

I smoke Cuban Cigars when In country or overseas. However since they dont retail here stateside, I dont when im in home country.

So how do I answer that one? lol

I must confess to liking the odd chuff every now and then. All the time, in fact. I've quit a few times, and find it really easy to give up without patches/gum etc. - I just enjoy smoking! I firmly believe a person cannot truly quit smoking unless THEY are ready to, and derive absolutely no pleasure from it any more. Me, I like a smoke with a drink, which is what reminded me I liked smoking again. So I started smoking again.

If I ever stop liking it, I'll just give up.

I must admit to being curious about what you are like when drunk - you come across as fairly 'po-faced' on here sometimes. I bet you're a fun drunk, though.

Its not sudden, i just got the general impression from your persona you were around 12/13.

Also not having an age on your profile suggests under 16 to me.

Yep smoked for a number of years now. I enjoy smoking just not the price. When i started they were only $2.50 a pack now you cant even touch them for under $4.00 unless you get the cheapest brand possible which taste worse than tree bark and before you ask yes i DO know what tree bark tastes like!

I work about 100 hours a week, and my primary responsibility is hiring and firing people. We have an insanely high rate of turnover, so I'll knock about 20 people into unemployment every month. I don't generally enjoy doing it, so it puts me in a consistently dour mood. Since I do most of my posting from work this translates into a more serious posting style.

I'm a goofy drunk. The creature emphasizes my sense of humor, which usually makes me say wildly inappropriate things.
