Pedro Kantor is the latest, and possibly greatest, chapter master of the Crimson Fists. He has heroicly led his chapter back from the edge of extinction, never once giving in to the enemies of man. He commands the upmost loyalty of every one of his Marines, and remains one of the most important members of the Adeptus Astartes in the latter years of the 41st millenium.
So why, by holy Terra, is he just wearing power armour?!
I know most of the Crimson Fists arsenal went ka-boom when they had their little "accident" , but surely somewhere along the line he would have picked up a suit of Artificer armour along the way? AFAIK, he is theonly chapter master who currrently have official rules not given the honour of having a 2+ save. So why do you think he didn't get it? Are thier any other charecters you believe deserve better wargear?

Also, 1000TH POST!!! REVEL IN THE GLORY OF MY FIRST STEP TOWARDS APOTHEOSIS!

Khan doesn't have artificer armor either, I don't think. It would be nice if he had artificer armor, but I always think of Pedro as a "down to earth" chapter master who would use basically the same equipment as his brethren.

Why doesn't he have an Doomfist that strikes at initiative?

Why doesn't all the space marines have 3+ armor that roll saves on 2D6?

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Because the rules say so

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

But doesn't papa-smurf wear power armor sometimes?

He can do, but TBH no one with two brain cells to rub together would ever take him without Termie armour.

Marneus Calgar wears Power Armor unless you pay for the Terminator Armor upgrade, doesn't he?

Yeah, but pretty much everyone pays for Termie armour...

Oh sure. But he does come in Power Armor beforehand. You'd think he'd be able to come up with Artificier Armor too.

Well, Calgar used to have Artificer armor in the last codex.

And yeah, forgot that Khan wasn't a chapter master. Haven't read my Marine codex in a while since I've been playing Orks and Guard.

Tigurius is even worse. I played him recently in multi-player and Eldrad was around. After my first perils wound, he became a 230 pt hood for the rest of the game . 2 wounds, 3+ and no inv save, really...

Wrong. ALL LIBRARIANS got nerfed with the new codex. Same with scout sniper rifles. I used to have a thing going where my Librarian would get his Fury of the Ancients thing going through buildings, etc, ripping orks apart by the dozens! And when someone managed to wound him, well, I had some artificer armour stacked up, plus tons of other fun upgrades. Now, all the Librarians have jack all in their wargear, and the powers aren't really all that much better.
And why on earth are you taking a librarian against any Eldar Farseer? I learned long ago of the uselessness of such a move (the hard way, obviously)

Because hes made of all colors of awesome and badass and laughs at the weak fools that need more protection then their own troops.

Also, because it's purely rules wise, cause his armor in Rynn's World is more awesomely adorned then regular power armor.

Tbh, as a whole-hearted Fists player, I think he deserves a 15pt upgrade in his 175pts. But tbh, GW did it because of all the 2+ running around already.

As for calgar, he has 3+ because then everyone would just go searching for the old OOP model on ebay instead of paying £30 for five models..

Wait, let me stop you there...

This is the Chapter Master who allowed some jumped up little monkey of an Ork Warlord get the better of him, thereby letting his own Chapter get all but eradicated, then, despite besting him in single combat, allowed Snagrod to escape.

(Actually, I really enjoyed Rynn's World, but I love the revisionism that has gone on since Rogue Trader ))

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

This^ the last marine codex had better libby and chappys and the powers were more aligned along just killing rather than support.
And also: 3 wound libbys with iron halos = much better than 5ed space marine libbys.
But i know that stuff had to be 'balanced' out

Cover, distance and many other factors would seem to have been at play. He does even have an Iron Halo... who knows.

Frankly, it's gotta be racism. As the only Spanish chapter master, of course he's going to get the shaft when it comes to the equipment distribution.

I never actually noticed he didn't get a 2+, even when I played Fists (never took him). Maybe he felt cooler using the same armor as his men.

Not his fault. One of the chapter keep's missiles malfunctioned and came back down. From there on out he led what survivors he could through Ork territory to defend the planet's capitol.

I get the impression that the Crimson Fists aren't one of the bigger wealthier Chapters, like the Ultramarines, Salamanders, or the Blood Angels. I bet the insurance on their Fortress Monastery doesn't even cover their ammunition expenditures.
