I like them. The red-orange-yellow scheme gives them an interesting sort of sunburst look, while still making me associate them with rusty metal. Can't decide whether I like the contrast of the classic green base rim or if I'd prefer it in a more muted earth-tone, to match the basing. Also, if you ever want to do a lava-based army, I think this scheme would work great for the OSL. Nice work!

While they all look fantastic, I really love your standard bearer. Very ominous.

Great job. I may steal the concept in the future if I ever get done painting what I have.

Hi, I was just wondering if you could post a tutorial on painting these colours and conversions (and the base) as I would be interested in painting my orks the same. ^__^

Why the sudden interest in brightly colored orks? This is the third thread I've seen in as many days...
(Great job by the way, beautiful results)

The Nobs that I posted are not Black Orc bodies, just the heads mostly and some arms. Here is my Nob from my 'Ard Boyz that I actually used the Black Orc body. And as for the armor colors, start with black, then blood red, Blazing Orange, then some Sunburst Yellow highlights. I will work on a tutorial to save a lengthy explanation.

excuse the poor image quality

Personally, I'd go with a different colored flesh than what you did. Separate it from the armor visually. Don't go with green if you don't like but a grey or brown based skin would contrast nicely and bring out another dimension to the models.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".
