Great table full of lovely models. Good theme, all tied together well.

One thing I'll add for the roof tile casting. I'd be tempted to cast the pieces with uneven edges (one in, one out) so that they can interlock with a separate cast piece and disguise the meeting points without needing to add greenery (a perfectly valid method though). Or just cut them out of the casts. I get very caught up in aiming for the "perfect" cast when I do it (one reason why it's been a while for me).

I did a bit of one, and not the "important" bit, and not moving or motorised.

Jealousy inducing work, yet again!

Great results, and am totally copying the plasticene mold idea - the resulting roof looks superb!
Did you press the tiles into it yourself?

Very nice, the mold and moss effects look really good on the church.

If you are ever in the area, I recommend stopping by Witley Court. It is owned by English Heritage, and is the ruin of an old manor house. It is useful in that you can see how such building were constructed. As a ruin there is still remnants of plaster on the wall, which you don't tend to think about. Interesting from a building perspective and as an idea source for building terrain.

Thank you all.

@ Panda, Thank you sir. You could be right on the size thing need t go bigger next time.
@ Jeff, Hi bud, and they are a loot crate special Alien egg shaker set.
@graven, Thank you bud, not sure about classic, possibly typical, not sure I qualify as classic.
@ Dave, Thank you sir. Motivation is easy, don't want to look at the world to scary, and have chosen this as my only vice, (well nearly).
@ Red, Thanks sir, you might just see one around here before long, the guys I am doing this for want a Mars table later on so might just have to go there.
@ DrH, I hear you on the mould making, I should probably make an effort in that direction, especially if the buildings are in one piece, not too worried, these are derelicts and I am happy enough with the result, just hope twinner and crew are.
@ SD, Thanks bud, and please see below.
@ nmt, Thanks bud, going to have to start stopping and taking photos for the reference folder.

Well a couple pics by way of a how to, since a couple peeps have asked.

Quick and dirty plasticine molding and casting.

Press out some plastacine between some lego blocks, you could use any container, has to be able to take the resin later is all. Here I have got a 6" by 3" ish tray laid out, and smoothed the surface.

Then I have shaped the end of a coffee stirrer stick, but you can use anything here...

Next having coated the end of the stick in vaseline, I start to press in the tiles

Work your way across, remember to stagger the tiles, and keep it rough, not too clean a job, you could spend time and get it perfect, but certainly in this case a roof would not look like that

Once complete coat in vaseline or oil...and you are ready to go.

You might have to touch up the mould between casts and it is only realisticly good for maybe 6 casts at best, but if you only need a couple bits it is perfect.

Well thanks for looking hope it is helpful.

Yet another stroke of genius...it takes a special twisted mind to think about how to makenannegative mold that way...my hat is of to you sir!

One minor question tho... have you looked into cake making and fondant molding silicon stuff? Our clever Chinese fellows are inventing/replicating things that could be of use for hobby enthusiasts...

Thanks guys.

@ Vik, Thanks bud, and yes I look at the cake decorating gear often, in fact some of my favourite sculpting tools are a set of plastic decorating tools from the supermarket.
@ Graven, Thanks bud, glad it worked out ok.

Talking of Graven, he made a request, you can you know. I enjoy nothing more than a good modelling challenge.

Here we have the start of a 7" two face coin for his gaming.

Made a mould and ran off a couple copies in dental plaster...

Then scrapped them up a bit for the "B" side....

And this is the one Graven has gone for, so am currently casting in resin, once they are cast will glue the two halves together.

Back to the buildings today, this was just a distraction, to break up the building queue.

Thanks for looking.

The coins are truly awesome. In the comics was it a double headed coin also? I really like the grotesque look of the second one, almost looks zombified.

Thanks guys.

@ Vik Thanks bud, and I do not know is the best answer, He just asked me for a really big coin, had to go research the coin needed.
@ Theo, Thanks bud, and I have no idea, in the movie it was a two headed coin, just kinda makes sense.
@ Ruglud, Cheers Bud.
@ Josh, Thanks bud, and the whole casting thing is easy honestly.

So waiting on some supplies before I can finalise the coins, so in the mean time, back to buildings....

This is one of a few "homes" I am going to do, for scale it is just under 6" across.

Then did some brick work, here you go Vik straight lines for the courses...

Then just a shaved popsickle stick as a rough tool to do the verticals...

A little paint to start the ball rolling....

Feel a bit better, hit a bit of a block the last couple days, and I have a visitation from pap Nurgle at the mo as well, but after this evening I feel back at it.

Interesting process on the casting.
For that, with what I said earlier, I'd go for cutting out alternate tiles in the finished casts to interlock them. Can't say how well that'd work though. Something to think about.

Nice work on the new building (which you've constructed and painted in the time I've taken to do a bit of flooring and a couple of hatches).

Thank you all.
Pic heavy update, but first...
@ Yorkright, No elves, just the Pictsies running around in my head.
@ Graven, If I had Minions I would take over the world, and all would be right and green.
@ Vik, Thanks bud, yes you are right about the doors, I guess I hope they will not be played about with that much, they are durable enough. I may do an improved version were I insert bushes in the door. And yes some details to be added yet to the interiors, but not too much, want them to remain playable.
@ Gits, Thanks bud, very much appreciated.and will try.
@ SirD, Thanks bud, will do shortly.

OK Pics I guess...
So here are the terrace...

Whilst I was letting them dry a bit and needed to make some materials, not going in to great detail here unless requested, whole bunch of vids out there and Theo has covered this recently too, but here is some flock I made...
This batch was from the dust I collected whilst sawing up some MDF for the bases.

Also did a little experiment..
This...

Became this...

Which I sieved...

Will see how it looks once it is dry enough to use...

Supplies arrived so got a production line going for Gravens coins...

And did a little woodland piece to ad to the board of stuff for twinner.

So the trees are some woodland scenics armatures stuck to wooden dowels which are coated in hot glue for texture....did I mention they are magnetised...

Made the base with the inserted magnets and root system on, then put some tin foil down and having stuck the magnets to the end of the dowels used the glue gun to run stripes up and down the trunk. Foil stops it sticking, but allows it to roughly contour the ground.

Cleaned up a bit and licked with paint..

Then drilled holes in the top of the dowels and inserted the WS armatures to be branches..

Scale shot...

and after starting to add flock etc..

Thanks for looking and please feel free to comment, none of this is finished work yet, going to get a couple days at it now so should see some proper progress.

I've recently played with saw dust and I have to say it is a highly overlooked material... together with paint or PGS it highly versatile and looks really good as grass or tree collage for a given value of"good"... also...if you add too much paint in the mix the whole junk gets solo hard you have instant high density and low weight rocks...

The tree tutorial is pure awesomeness...so a cam run of the mill
Could you show us a link to the tree armatures? I found some only recently, but the cost efectivity back then didn't motivate me to get me some too...but with the addition of dowles I think they make excellent trees!
