Apparently, it doesn't exactly meet EU safety standards. At least, that's what they're saying in the thread.

Bizarre, back when they had lead in the age limit was only 12... Guess spikey plastic might be used as an offensive weapon...

In the US, there's the "can the kid choke on a piece?" criteria. I would be surprised if the killa kanz have more choke-able pieces than any other GW kit, but anything is possible.

They are very pointy. I bought nine the day that they came out, and I was not sure, after I'd finished painting them, if the red on my hands was blood or paint.

If this is the cause, then expect the same to happen to the Screaming Bell / Plague Furness.

You're not a real modeler until you do. I used to do it at least once every time I worked with the old mutipart Chaos Warriors(the hunchback ones). Some of the helmet spikes were sharper than you'd expect.

The sharpest part of the new killla kan are the "tooth" that are on the body's face plates.
And the tooth attached to some of the gun arms. They can easily stab through skin o_o

That thing is a shocker. When I was at a GW store, they were putting together a Lizardmen Store Army out of the surplus that didn't sell in the January release. I put a Razordon together. I had more than a few bandaids up my arm after that...

Actually, the statements in this and Warseer's thread are not completely accurate. I have read the original message.
Fact is that the product failed a required security test and the EU therefore complained that the Killa Kan kit is not deemed suitable for age 12+ children (as most other things from GW) but only for 14+ children. GW is just printing warning labels which will be available from 13th April, that is next Tuesday. Until then GW will not sell the boxes and other shops "should not" sell these kits to children below the age of 14 and are "advised to" remove the kit from the shelves. Next week, boxes with label are sold again. GW will change the sprue eventually to meet EU requirements though.
BTW, let's hope they never test the 40k CoD buildings: Who hasn't made painful experience with the Gothic lamps on the railing

Really? Because I got mine together easily, And I even held the points of the spikes while painting. But your probably right. My hands have lost some sense after too many cold games of football.
Anyway, will this affect us Australians? Because I was planning on picking up a couple after my Nids are finished.

How did you pick just one thing to pick upon? We have warning stickers on everything but paperclips in the US and there's a frivolous lawsuit behind nearly every one of them.

Just because it's ridiculous. Don't wanna take this thread OT, just felt the need to point out how silly it is that people are ragging on the EU like this is something that doesn't happen all over the world.
