Hello fellow Dakkaites,

I've always been a lowly GW adept; still 2010's French Gamesday (April, 18th) proved to be be quite a surprise for me,
for I was awarded the Scrap Demon with my scratch-built mini!!!!

As a reminder, the Scrap Demon contest lets people be handed out some random sprues and left-overs, in order for them
to scratch-build the most delirious, pointless & awesome mini their deranged mind can work out with these very few bitz!

So I'll give a glimpse of the mini right now...

Can you guys figure out what it's supposed to be?

Cheers,

Yggdrasil

I think I can make out some sort of Ork Mek-like creature. It looks like a big shoota towards the left.

Am I even vaguely correct?

I fail to see the point in making a thread to show off your mini, and then making us guess what it looks like.

Ok, I have to admit that from this poitn of view, my thread seems a bit awkward...

I was not trying to make myself a jerk, but it seems I managed to do so... my apologies.

Anyway, here's the mini:

And a close-up:

So, what do you guys think?
I'm not that enthusiastic about it, but since it's my second Ork ever, I guess it's not that bad?

Looks really good,I like the use of different components and the Dark Eldar victim (I bet that earned you extra points for nostalgia! )

Wow, that is a damn good scratch build.

Gratz on the win! I feel the model could be a tad more dynamic, but since you have to make do with what you get... great work!

Actually, they were spraying HUGE lots of Dark Eldar sprues for the contest, so I'm pretty sure it turned up into an utter DE genocide !!!
Poor them...

And I've been lucky on the "legs" , they're parts of an Empire Cannon (the wooden part where the cannon rests, split in two).

Merci! Un français sur Dakka?

It took quite a long time, I must admit, something like half-an-hour... But there was no time limit, so...

So you were here on the 18th?

Thanks!!
Yeah, as for the components, I only had:
- an AoBR Nob/Termie sprue;
- a DE warrior sprue;
- two Ork vehicle sprues - I'm not sure what they are (I'm no Ork player, so I'm not used to their sprues), probably the turret sprue from the Battlewagon or something... Anyway, the Ork crew & gunz were pretty cool!!!
- an Empire Cannon sprue, with only the wooden part where the cannon rests (I don't know the name) left, but I used them as part of the legs!!

I would've liked to add a big kannon or the goblin crewman, but I had no time for it...

Anyway, thanks to all!!!
