I've just discovered boosting, and want to make a friend!

What's boosting?

Boosting is where we do a 1v1 match and work on the challenges that are impossible to get in the regular game.

IE, getting a match winning kill via getting a helicopter to drop a supply crate on an enemy.....stuff that doesn't realistically happen in game. Running out of ammo, and getting a game winning kill with a throwing knife....stuff like that. Getting a killing blow with a throwing knife while flash-banged. Etc.

Doesn’t that defeat the purpose, a little bit? I’ve seen people in the game with the match winning kill crate achievement and I’ve thought that’s an awesome thing to have done. If it’s just a few guys playing a pretend game to manipulate things then what’s the point?

It kind of takes the ‘achievement’ out of ‘achievement’.

Boosting is for unskilled kids. The whole point of challenges is to be challenged.

lol no, I'm just messin with you. Point is, I am a huge CoD fanbody, Treyarch or IW, I LOVE IW. I really don't give a baker's last feth if you enjoy it or not.

My only two complaints with MW2 are with totally OTT stupid-powerful builds that everyone runs, and it ruins the game for casual players, and the amount of hacking thanks to no dedicated servers. Nothing is more annoying than the teenager with an aimbot and a dishonest 100/1 K/D ratio bragging about how "l33t" he is.

You mean builds as in certain weapons and perks? Or computers? Because the perks, when used right, can be quite powerful.

I have another class that is the same except throwing knife instead of semtex, and the M1014 combat 12 gauge with sight instead of the TMP. And using Ninja Pro. I use this for maps like Terminal (my most favorite), Skid Row, wtc..anything I can bounce my throwing knife off walls and hit people. CLose quarters.... you know...



and I agree...I fething HATE the little punks that hack and call it skill and talk gak all the time. I also despise anybody who uses grenade launchers, RPGs, light machine guns, the P90, claymores, C4, etc. That's cheap and noobish. (I will still slaughter everybody, but its makes my KDR suck more).

I OMA noob tube my record is 70-3. Ive done 20-3 in search and I have picture proof of that. No bullet kills for either unless you count chopper gunner.

Otherwise, with regular gun classes my record is 52-5 and 18-4 respectively.

I play on xbox though and havent had time lately. I have only played a couple games since the new DLC. Used to play a lot more. Im 5th prestige and would probably be 7th or 8th if I hadnt stopped.

I must've missed the part where the P90 requires no skill--but the UMP(which is arguably better, just with a lesser ammo capacity) is skill?

when you play with people that don't suck it is. P90, like the G18, is a spray and pray, except you don't have to pray. No Skill.

All the guns are the same in my opinion with some exceptions, being the 3 round burst guns are overpowered.

The skill required to be good isnt so much the right guns it is being able to aim and find the opponent first. This is a game where hitboxes are big and lag can effect shooting, so its all about who sees the other first.

A gun that is very powerful but requires more skill to use is IMO the RPD. You can gear it up so it kills from the bark of its gun, but unless you sacrifice a lot of stuff to make the gun kick less it does take skill and burst fire to be god with it. A nasty combo in search is grip and silencer. This, as I just mentioned, lowers its power but it makes it more accurate.

Look up the in game hard stats of the guns, its kinda interesting. The assault rifles fall into two identical categories when it comes to damage 40-30 and 30-20. The rest of the difference is kick and iron sights.

P90 in MW2 is a pretty bad gun compared to the original. All subs are but the UMP really. UMP is the best gun in the game because it does 40-35 damage. Since everyone has 100 health points, that means you will never need more than 3 shots to kill even with a silencer. This is why I laugh when I see stopping power on a UMP. If they took the time to study up on the guns they would realize that is pointless. This is also why it feels so good compared to the others. The others are all 30-20 or worse. So for example with a 30-20 gun you need 5 bullet hits to kill at long range.

If you are having problems or strange things are happening in game it is likely lag. I refuse to play the PC version it has unforgivable lag issues compared to console.

I'm talking about Knife-builds. You know the guys - Commando, Marathon, Faster Running - they knife you -through- walls and stuff. I have the game on PC and it's so damn hard to kill these guys at anything closer than 100m that it's slowed. Those guys and the douchebags that run around with dual 1887's. Biggest two game-wreckers out there.

Looks as if most of you prefer to play regular, I stick entirely to Hardcore, I prefer the added realism, and tube spam is usually a little less common. The ump is the only weapon that truly needs a nerf in the game. It is the only weapon with a bug where it suffers no added fall off damage for using a silencer. In addition, the vector, which is the weakest SMG in the game, fires the same round at higher velocity than the ump, but is somehow weaker... Either weaken the ump, or make the P90 the weakest of the smgs, being it fires the smallest bullet, and make the ump and vector equal in power...

I have over 6500 kills with ump, when I have stopping power equipped with a silencer, it is different that without it, I also use Stopping Power more for my TMP.

Stopping power with silencer turns the UMP from a 3 hit kill to a 3 hit kill (not much practical difference).

What's wrong with LMGs? The high recoil and muzzle flash make them harder to use than an AR or SMG. The large magazine really only helps when you run into about 5 people in the same place.

I like equipping the L86 with a grip (essential for most LMGs) and FMJ for people who hide in aeroplane cockpits and similar hiding.

Also, the Raffica is basically a burst assault rifle. Give it a sight and use it like an M16 or FAMAS.

I think the ACR is actually one of he strongest guns in he game though. The lack of recoil on the thing makes it monstrous compared with it's rivals who require more recoil management.

hmm. the etcetera was placed for a valid reason. If you play the game too much, as I do, from the items on my list, you can infer the additional items that my list might include. Notice how I said light machine guns, and the p90, therefore no categorizing all SMGs or assault rifles together, just the light machine gun group. The rest of the items I listed are all similar in nature, therefore, the use of the etcetera, and considering the words in it of itself just means "unlisted additional items", I think I used it correctly.
