I don't know what happened but Army Builder and software like it seem to have just died.
Army Builder supposedly no longer supports 40K??? (cutting of your nose...)
GWs own IAL is dead and they have no plans on updating it with V5 lists and data?
The Forge doesn't look like it has been updated in years...
I know there are Excel sheets and such out there but I used to really enjoy how Army Builder worked and would make sure you didn't break any list validation rules as you went and such.
What do most people that do want to use something like this use now? Are there any new applications avail or am I missing something?

What are you rambling about.
Have you tried AB and have you then had a look there http://ab240k.freeforums.org/reg_success.php ?

I know there are "fan created" files for AB, but weren't the old V2 AB files in some way "official". I thought Wolfslair specifically made a big show about "not supporting 40K" anymore. I just don't like the idea of paying $40 for a piece of software that doesn't work unless I download a "hobbyist fan generated" add on.

The "hobbyist fan generated" stuff is always what AB has been based on. They do an excellent job @ 40kab.org and it works just fine for me and everybody else.

Agree, and if i find a mistake / error.
Just report it and edit the file yourself while waiting for the update. Its kind of easy when your get the hang of it.

I find no problems in using Army Builder whatsoever.

The Forge isn't bad either, you can find the lists for it online.

Usually there is a 1 month lag time before AB updates for a new codex. So it won't be long. Have patients.

Lesser Daemon of Chaos

I have it from a very reliable source that GW is working on a web/iPhone capable app for doing army lists. Time until release, unknown :(
|
In the embrace of great Chaos, I am no longer afraid, for with its power and favor, I shall become the embodiment of that which I once most feared.....Death
Chaos Space Marines: W50, L23, D17
Warriors of Chaos: W15, L2, D0
CSM 6th Edition: W19, L6, D3
CSM 7th Edition: W17, L2, D2
Kill Team: W2, L0, D0 |

Oh now an I-phone app would be very useful...
I could while away AGES of time fiddling and tweaking my lists no matter where I was and never get anything done ever again!

go to google and search for "Why suggesting that people pirate software despite that being against forum rules is a bad idea"
