As I am a subscriber to 'The Death of the Emperor', and a few painting blogs, I get increasingly annoyed when I click the 'Skip to first unread' button and all I get to read is more people shouting MOAR!1!, and praising/flaming the OP for the greatness/awfulness of their work.

I wondered, and am thus asking, if it would be possible to implement a feature in the P&M Blog forum section and the Dakka Fiction section, that meant that the 'Skip to first unread' button only appeared when there was a post by the OP. There could be an additional button that works like the current one as well, if you feel it would ruin things.

This would prevent me having to trawl through several pages of aforementioned posts, and skip to the relevent awesomeness in an instant.

Would this be possible, or is it not worth the bother?

I agree - would be a very useful feature; not sure how difficult / easy it is to implement.

It would be quite a major overhaul to implement this, so I'm afraid I dont think it is entirely worth the effort. It is a decent idea but due to the level of work involved it goes into the blue sky pile of ideas for now.

fair enough, can someone at least lock 'The Death of the Emperor' thread until DLS PMs one of the mods to open it? Its getting crazy in there...
