My apologies if this's been posted already, but I didn't see it come up on a quick search...

Looks like Scibor's branching out in their SF line, with "Spartan" Torsos and Shoulderpads.

Sorry for the lack of pix... I couldn't get them to work right.

Shoulderpads look nice. Wish he sold the celtic ones in bulk. Not entirely sold on the torsos yet. Would appreciate seeing one on a SM painted.

I like the shoulder pads. Not a fan of the random turbines with no supporting mechanisms or apparent power source on their backs.

Should have stricken while the 300 iron was hot - the amount of homebrew Spartan-esque chapters then was outrageous.

The shoulder pads are a bit strange in my opinion but I really like this set, they could make a great tzeench set up. Now all you need is the legs and arms, Scribor do a series of Spartan heads but they show skin so it wouldn't be suitable for Tzeench, maybe combining them with warriors of chaos pieces like heads and legs?
Its time for me too think about that because I have always wanted to do a squad of tzeench guys.

8000 points of Chaos Space Marines (Iron Warriors/Nurgle)
1000-2000 points of Chaos Guard/Supporting Deamons of Chaos
2.5/3000 points of Vampire Counts
2000 points Beastmen
1000 points Dwarves (drifting towards the bin)

Very interesting... with the torsos being a large departure from the GW type (since you can't put on a backpack due to the turbine) I'd think there should be some legs, too...

I can't see that large abdomen logo (belt buckle?) looking right atop the standards space marine belt/legs.

But cool looking on its own, for sure...

the pads on the whole only look good on Terminators they are a bit big for basic marines.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Neither the torsos or the pads look all that good to me - the vents on the torso look stupid, and the rest of the torso just looks... well... not that good? The giant belt buckle wouldn't look out of place in Texas

The shoulder pads are just too bumpy and on too many levels. As is the design on the belt buckle stomach protector.

I think the turbines are there just to make a place where you can put the backpack onto, don't you think?

That was my thought. Throw a pack on there and you never see the turbine

I quite like the torsos, not the best, by any means. But I like the fan/vents.

I have never really been sold on the whole back back idea for a suit of self contained armour.

Yeah, I'd glue a backpack over it (maybe shave it down a bit) if I really liked the rest of the torso (I do not).

So the shoulderpads really only look good on termies? Does anyone have a pic of that? I've been eyeballing them for their celtic line for some conversions.

Sorry for the necro, but this is the most recent thread I could find on the subject.

I've always liked the first and the last Celtic Shoulderpads. Pity that Scibor doesn't sell them separately.

They do some nice shields for the Spartan bits as well in two sizes (one of the larger shields even has a 'not' purity seal).

I believe it was discussed on another forum that Scibor couldn't do the regular space marine backpacks due to GW copyright infringment or something. Kind of like how everything is now generically named instead of chapter specific and stuff. Still very nice work though - thoughts of a Spartan Blood Angel army are coming to mind . . ..

I'd have to see these on a Marine to buy one. Anyone know of any such pics?

But let's continue the discussion in this far more recent thread:
