Seeing as how suicide deffkopta tank hunters are not any good without buzzsaw blades...is it assumed i have them? or do i have to model them?
I have three copters i am using for my suicide tank killer team. i thought to use the two handed nob axe that has blades on it sticking out the front. But a kan or dreadnought arm seems better. any suggestions? id rather not even model it for a one turn dead unit. but if you feel its necessary whats is a good cheap solution. thank you.

I went for a quick and dirty approach to mine, and just took a chainsword-style choppa, lopped it off at the hilt and attaced it to the slanted portion of the fuselage below the rokkits between the skids. I assume that its the kinetic energy of the kopta that does the damage, not the size or ferocity of the blade itself.

Yes you need to model it . Here's my take on the buzzsawkopta:

Meercat: "All eyes turned to the horizon and beheld, in lonely and menacing grandeur, the silhouette of a single Grot robot chicken; a portent of evil days to come."

I have been thinking of adding a buzzsaw to one of my Koptas... nice simple (but great looking!) ideas here. its great to be able to boost across the field and get a shot at taking out something that would be an annoyance much later on.

If you are going for a more subtle approach, Ive thought about modeling the cybork buzzaw arm that comes with the Nobz box set on the pilot. Something to think about although it may be impractical for him to actually hit something with it, lol

Find a guard player that has some sentinel kits; get as many of the rough terrain modification bits(the Chainsaw arms) as possible. The make great Cybork Power Klaws as well as deffcopta buzzsaws.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Paint the rotor blades with blood spatters and you're done. The damn things method of locomotion is just as good as any buzzsaw....

...hah, those of you that actually bother bolting on extra gizmo's and what-nots aren't thinking like an ork!

I highly disagree! Bolting more things on to a gun or vehicle is the epitome of thinking like an ork!

My Buzzsaw wielding incarnation of my Deffkopta:

Buzzsaw was made from a Killa Kan Klaw and parts of a Nobz weapon - as well as plasticard (original version wasn't beefy enough according to Dakka!)

Actually - my Deffkopta is completely magnetised, allowing you to take any Codex legal load-out. See my blog or gallery for more pics.

Sorry - not the easiest solution!

Nobody answered his initial question, but those are some great conversions. I just acquired 3 myself and do plan to add blades to at least 1 of them

Does he actually have to model it or can it be assumed?

Entirely up to agreement between him and his opponent.

Technically, yes you have to model them. Models have to be WYSIWYG. you can get away with not modeling equippment that they come with (like all of the weapons on a CSM for example) but any upgrades you have to model.

Wow! after seeing these. I actually "want" to model it. When i asked the question i didnt see it as an upgrade but as actually mandatory since it was so good. but the more i look at it since it is extra points at a premium and in my squadron of 5 i really only need 1 and not 5 Im actually excited to model it. thank you.

UNderstood. I only ask because as far as I can tell GW does not sell any Deffkopta models with buzzsaws nor have I ever seen any official bits. Seems that if they required it they would also provide the parts. I've already modded two of the 3 I bought to include them myself.

GW does sell buzzaw bits, but they are $8.00 a piece and I have no idea how big they are or if they are metal or plastic.
