You know sometimes we find a great modeler with great ideas for convos but he gets carried away and ends up making things that dont fit 40k... or really paints badly... or a great painter with bad convos... But this is truly special and rare, great convos, great tight theme, super details on painting with battle damage included etc.

Its a rare thing to find these days and I'm very fortunate to see it. superb job!

Superb stuff, very mecky! And I second the call for a monowheel cybork - that was a classic enhancement even back the Waagh! The Orks days (along with squig brain transplants...).

Do you have a link to a thread that shows how you built Morkzamilyun by any chance? I'd love to know what you used for him.

The weathering is INCREDIBLE! It kind of reminds me of the robot from aliens because of the paint. Keep up the good work!

Arise, long forgotten Thread-blog-thing!

Just to show that I have been busy lately, I took some pics of what I have fully painted (if not completely based) of the Mekanikul Monstas Mob so far.

Gorkzilla, Morkzamilyun, and 60 boyz of various configurations and conversions. I'll try to take some better pics of them in a bit.

I'm currently working on 15 Lootas, and since the gunz and the boyz that shoot them are almost equal in terms of painting, that's almost like painting 30 models! Sheesh. Still, they've been started, and I hope to show their progress soon.

Still have to paint quite a lot. Tinboy Nobz and Tinboss, Kanz, the Mega-Dredd/Looted Wagon above, converted Dredd, and the Big Mek hisself still needs converting. I want to try and finish it all by February for a local Tournament. Maybe I will manage.

Looks amazing, the conversions and uniqueness of models really make it look like a true mob of dakka loving orks.

hamsterjuice: those are the old burna boy heads

GrimTeef: you can always use your big robots as mega dreads? I think they work better that way, It doesn't rly work for me to field them as battlewagons.. though it's your boyz

Fantastic warboss. I also love the orky defiler but I agree that it would be best fielded as a mega-dred. One thing I am unsure about is the old tinboy models, although they are great models, they look a little dated next to the newer orks. Have you thought about converting some tinboys from space marine models and ork parts?

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Rose, Hobbit: I get what you are saying, and I like the rules for the Mega-Dredd just fine. In friendly games I don't think my opponents would mind me using the rules from Forge World. But I'm also trying to prepare for playing a few games in tournaments, where Forge World rules may not be allowed.

Also, I just like having to use one book to make my army. The rules for the Battlewagon work pretty well, and with the tellyporta array and the size of the models, I don't think I'm really getting away with anything sneeky, modeling-wise. Their footprint might be a bit smaller than conventional models (and with the Mega-Dredd's base I have planned, I doubt that for it), but their height is certainly a drawback to counteract that.

I wonder a bit about the dated-ness of the old Tinboy models as well, but I love the gits! I've had them forever, and I played with them in my army for going on 12 or more years now. I think with some decent paint and weathering they will look the part just fine. I'll see, in any case! I might wind up bashing together some new models at some point if I don't like them after all.

The way the Mega tin boy gundam thing is put together, it doesnt look like an ork made it. It doesn't look haphazardly put together. Make some rendom plates out of plasticard/put some ork glyphs on it. It's a cool idea though.

Strongly disagree. Bad Moonz mekboyz make their stuff more coherently than other clanz' mekboyz. It why everyone hates them gitz.

Honestly, I think it looks plenty orky, and plates for no good reason would look contrived.

Orks =/= Haphazard. Crazy, yes, off the wall, hell yes, one screw loose - you betcha. But If you look at every GW model, not one of them looks like it was not built by an engineer. *bows and apologises for rant* That said I love the stuff you've done and await the custom mek with awe and impatience.
