They only asked for cameras to be turned off for the 'secret' slides. Essentially (I'm guessing) they want to give people an actual bonus for attending Games Day and I personally appreciate it. I like the fact that since I attended the Games Day I got to see something that, at least for a little while, others haven't gotten to see.

Says you.

While I agree in general, again I think it is nice to give people who come to an event something special. For example, at Comicon they hold a LOST Q&A every year. LOST has an audio (and often video) podcast but every year for Comicon they only record audio. I believe they do this on purpose to give the people who actually attend comicon a bonus for actually attending the event.

So while I definitely believe that GW should loosen their secrecy restriction, I also think it is a good policy to keep Games Day attendee-only surprises that aren't shown for at least a few weeks after the convention.

Another random tidbit I just remembered:

In the SM codex, Razorbacks do indeed have the option to get the Lascannon/TL Plasmagun turret again!

But as the game says, "Knowledge is Power. Guard it Well." For some reason in the GW Community, if you know something that everyone doesn't; then it must be true. Go to a Hobby Center and ask a Redshirt what they know. It must be true.

Just that all the rumors you can read in other threads are true.

Marneus Calgar is like god-incarnate in close combat (and has Eternal Warrior), Tigerious has all the psychic powers and can use three each turn.

The Scout Sergeant can give up his shooting to allow you to re-roll one Scout's 'to hit' rolls.

The vehicle special character comes with two models: One to put in the vehicle and another on foot. You put him into a vehicle to give it BS5 and when the vehicle explodes on a 3+ he hops out and becomes an infantry model with one wound.

In the trade seminar the list they gave us was: plastic stormboyz, plastic nobz, plastic deffkoptas, and the battlewagon. I think it is safe to assume that Zaggie will be there as well.

An interesting tidbit is that the plastic stompa is done. The only thing preventing it from being released is that, at the moment, it is 19 sprues.

That's right, 19.

Which really isn't so bad of a problem. When the Baneblade kit was first finished, it was something like 12 or 13 sprues, they said. The trick is in the combining of the bitz onto the sprue frame in such a way as to minimize the amount of masters they need to make.

So they will play musical chairs with the sprues until the bean counters are happy, and then we get our stompa.

Edit with a PS: The Legion of the Damned are indeed going to be metal. I saw the slide for a little longer later that day (maybe 5 seconds, lol) and the model was resin, not a green, with extra details being added with GS.

There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.

and just when I thought I was done with orks by having 10,000 points spanning 3.5 editions of models.

Any idea if the plastic stormboyz are simply plastic versions of the metal ones or are they going to be updated aethstetics? And who is going to buy a dethcopta set (probably 25$ for 3) when they can get 3 for 60$ in the boxedset with a load of other models?

That explains why in the basic product seminar Phil slipped up and started talking about how the Deathkoptas had all sorts of options on them and Jes had to correct him and say they didn't.

Phil was clearly thinking of the full DK kit while they were showing the slides for the Black Reach set.

Very interesting. . .

Nah, its still there.

If you look closely at the GW preview, you can barely make out the ATSKNF rule in there.

Ahh, but his comment about having alternative load outs for the dethcopta: a springgy arm to hit someone, alternative rokkits & flamas. Who is going to resist having unique coptas rather than simple clones. Plus he mentioned the possibility of a special boss on a copta.

In the seminar he also mentioned the dimensions of the new battlewagon and why its different from the truks and landraiders.

As for Planetstrike, Jes did mention that he was just finishing up on the book and was looking forward to its release to add additional reason for the drop pods.

I noticed the rumours on the Razorback front had gone quiet since the early going. I was under the impression that TL Assault cannons were also on the options list for them now, and maybe some others. Personally I hate the idea but want to know if it's true. If it is in fact merely TL lascannon, TL HB, plus Las/TL Plas as the sole new option, then it's still a nice plus, seeing as most SMs are going to be suffering from Las-Plas withdrawal symptoms in their 'Stand & Fire', err... I mean 'Tactical' squads.

Saw whatever you like about AV11/10/10 weapon platforms, I think if they cost right you can make good use of them.

I listend to the audio of that seminar, and it sounded to me like the 'springy arm' was a conversion of the boxed set copters because he said 'drilled out the rokkits area'. But I can always use more Kopters, I got 6, will have 3 more from the boxed set so I could use another 3.

I didn't hear a 'why' for the battlewagon size, just the size. We will see. I liked the FW wagon size and design.

I pointed him out at the golden daemon booth and he was invited in. Gary spent hours looking at the entries. He's very much into painting. He was introduced to Jes, who was blown away by the experiance. Mr. Oldman was very nice and unasumming. My wife got a photo with him (she was a volunteer at the golden daemon) and I took one when Nicole shook his hand and invited him in, but for the most part every one was very cool with him. It was one of the highlights of the day. -K

Even better.

Alpha, I missed the rule that made transports worth a KP. Not to mention you present your assumption of it's worthlessness as fact.
