ok so here's a few progress shots.
the middle guy is 90% finnished, and has been rough coated.
The other two guys are about 60% done...
I'm not sure about the spear or the chainsaw... because obliterators are supposed to have power fists...
the dude on the lefts plasma gun looks like it's stuck on with a blob of GS and the brain cable head looks goofy, these will be changed...



I finnally found a use for one of my spare DreadHeads!

the chain sword looks cool... but it should be a PowerFist

I'm happy with the feed cable from the barrel to gun.


Again sorry about the lack of detail in the shots, my mini-photography leaves alot to be desired.
I'll try inking one to see if that makes things better.

Well, i understand what you say about they should have PF's but honestly, Anyone looking at these babies and then saying you can't use them 'cos they don't have this or that like they should....should be killed for being a dull anally retentive kill joy.

Phil, I'm just being a picky about the powerfists... one of the reasons that I don't like the GW model is because of the assault cannons!
I mean how hard is it to make a model that fits the rules? I think I'll leave their arms alone and decide if they need changing once I've finnished the full set...
I'm thinking that a couple of obliterators with dual weapon arms Like ArbitorIans will hit home the obliterator theme...

I think Holden88's're awesome, But in the end they looked too Iron Warriors for a nurgle force...
I was really looking at the WarMachine Cryx Jacks and Cankerworm for the base.
But in the end I thought I'd be happier with something completely Citadel based/themed.

Wait till mine are painted before you rule them out / write them off!

Yep, Panic these get better and better. They remind me of space Zoats .

anyway, you could always argue that the PF' are hidden inside the slug portion and fly out like a boxing glove on a spring when needed

I'm thinking of removing the bigger heads and replacing them with terminator heads to make the obliterator cult a little more uniform? what do you think?

ok as for removing the heads, I am a big fan of making each model individual so i vote for keeping them as they are. I mean they are all slugs so thats pretty uniform already...right?

and i cant wait to see some paint no them!

Yeah,

I decided to change the heads.. added two FW khorne Lord heads and Fist and a FW Plague Marine head and body...
I've still got a few bits that need GS and Guitar Strings... but they are 95% done...so I've started to add paint...



the central obliterator is the test subject for the paint scheme... mixing inks etc.. the wet effects hasn't dried clear yet...

I Rushed Painting Last week for my first game, with all 9 Obliterators... they performed as expected.

Overall I'm happy with them, the only thing is I think they are taller than regular obliterators... which kinda looks like modeling for advantage.
they can stand behind the shorter plague marines and get a cover save without giving their targets a cover save...

Here's a (bad) Photo from a recent game.

Nurgle & Slannesh (geek lists!) vs Ultra Marines & Orks
every turn, ArbitorIan piled them up and I knocked them down.
I felt bad that we won this game with such a a dirty Net List combo.

Also sitting Castled up on my BoardEdge all game was very boring....

the Photos are a bit Dark So I'll get some Better ones.
I'll finish this Blog off with some group shots once I've varnished,and applied one more touch of WetEffects.
