Just an observation, it seems very un-Orkish to stand about and shoot at things as opposed to charging across the table and assaulting But then I haven't played any objective based games yet. It seems as though the game wouldn't have been so close if the Orks had done more assaulting, but I guess although they'd have wiped out more marines they'd have lost the objectives... a difficult one to call and in the end the Orks won anyway which is really all that matters!!!

I certainly think they are lucky, and to be honest, I am slightly jealous.

All the same, are they playing with other people yet? Also, have they started to coax their friends into it? My school generation has spawned from one boy. He first got me interested, then my friend, then I found links with other people and soon we had a circle. What about you guys?

My friends and I got into it because someone brought a GW Catalog to school one day.

That's an awesome thing. Looking back, sort of wished my brothers were into this sort of thing. Instead, they were into cars, beer, and women. Sheesh! heh heh

Great start to their painting as well. Looks like they have a great play sponsor too.

those Kids (even though i am only 14) did a better job at their first painting than i did

excellent job converting them my son is nearly 4 and is facinated when i sit down to paint miniatures or models, i get him those wooden planes/boats/trains sets that come with paint for him to build and paint and he loves it ( although it comes out black/blue sludge ), hopefully i will be able to bring him into the hobby without much trouble

also for thier first miniatures, they are pretty good!

two more gamers enter the hobby.. one old gamer enters the realm of mentor, hobby is balanced for a few hours.. Well done Panic...

Hehe that sure was fun. The only reason I got into 40k was my brother who's 9 years older and only got into the hobby because a bunch of his friends stopped playing battletech

Tell them, for their first minis it's nice work, and I am impressed how good the yellow looks. Wouldn't be my first choice in painting marines, but it looks good.

Hey guys, it's nice to see new people getting into the hobby. For your first minis, it all looks quite nice, but I think the yellow marines could need a little more contrast here and there. It would probably help a lot if you paint the scouts' clothing under the armor in black.

If you want to add more stuff to your army, it's always a good idea to add a selection you don't have already. With a Terminator squad and a Dreadnought, you already have 2 elites, so I would suggest either a small tank, like a predator or a fast unit like bikes or an assault squad.

As for you emmet, I would suggest something bigger, like a Dread, since you already have some infantry. On the other hand, with Orks, it's always a god idea to get more infantry.

One more thing: I don't want to sound to harsh with that, but it would be nice if you could work on your writing a little bit.

Anung Un Rama that is harsh, they are pretty young yet and to tell someone to type better is just mean. At there age its a learning curve that takes some time. Infact I see some of your words are not correct so until you fix yourself try not to fix others. And i ment no disrespect.

well the boys have got of to great start and going by the pics are having a great time playing and painting. its always good to envourage youngster in the hobby, hell last night im working on my grey knights and my 3 year old was watching me apply a black wash to the models, next thing i know, shes picked a brush up, dipped it in the wash and started to paint one of GK's for me, and done a good job of applying the wash.........lol. once shes a lot older i get her in the hobby properly and teach her her paint.....lol.

I don't see it that way at all. He is just encouraging these 2 fine youths to educate themselves.

i know dave, but they are kids, and dakka isnt an english class
alot of people make spelling mistakes here and there.

orks: i wouldtry and ad something like a dreadnought or some killa kanz.

marines: a whirlwind or vindicator would help loads, but a unit of bikes is another good option.
