spellwork and lettering on their armor, etc. I plan to use magical flames to counter the deep blues and compliment the gold trim. Fairly light on mutations, but enough of them that they don't look out of place when they occur. I think at first I will emphasize invul saves (termies, LotD, etc) to run them like the hard to kill tszeench of last edition, Mostly to do cinematic modeling with fewer points wise expensive models.

Example: Attack bike with multi melta: I will leave the multi melta on there for WYSIWYG but the "gunner" will be a sorcerer rearing back to throw a fireball.

I like that. Thats creative conversions to use proper rules for a different vision.

Remember in gaming where there's an issue they are just "blue marines."

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."

Regarding : Attack Bike = Sorceror & Thrall on Large Disk of Tzeentch?

I had considered this and afew other things .. Like shoud,l I try to incorperate some of the demon characters like blue scribes etc. I am as yet undecided to what extent I want to do counts as (as far as models are concerned anyway). I like that idea and a few others similar to it I have been thingking about, but I am not sure how much expalining I want to have to do with each game.

I will have to do that to some degree ... Since I plan on using converted chaos marines for the Sternguard Tsons I will already be going, ok these are my sternnguard, the blue and gold sisters of battle are my regular tac squads(most people in my flgs are already used to seeing pink SOB in as basic csm in my slaanesh army). So depending on the exact units I choose I am going to keep in mind how easy it is to understand at a glance and make decisions from there on how much "counts as" stuff I will incorperate.

I currently have no bikes or discs so I have to buy new models for that unit either way ... so I might just go the discs route. It would surly be a fun model to make and paint. I am about ready to stop playing around in my head and put down a list to start building towards.

As for blue fire I love it dearly. However, It would just blend in with all the blue from the marines themselves while the yellow would give contrast and make the whole figure look better. So I think I will go with yellow (or another lighter colored flame. Green could contrast with the blue as well and incorperate a little of the blue to tie it in ... hmmmm ...

Frazzle .. your right. In my local scene no one would have a problem with saying that they were just blue marines. I don't make it to the big official tourneys much, mostly a rogue trader every now and then and I have had great experiences with the organizers and conversions so far in that department as well.

Thanks all for continued feedback and ideas.

You can't do that with the Chaos codex either. But using the marine dex you can fortify terrain in your deployment zone. That sounds pretty siege specialist-like to me.

JohnHwangDD wrote:Actually kSons are probably the worst army you could possibly choose from a power perspective. Oooh... AP3 Bolters, but everybody gets Sv4+ cover. Oohhh.... Inv save just like everybody else. Mandatory Socrceror points sink in Troops.

Well it's about time! The Tzeentch gravy train has had plenty going for it for quite long enough if you ask me!

Seriously, as an army, kSons are weak.

Seriously, as an army, kSons don't exist.

Thousand Sons are a Troop choice in the Chaos army. I think you need more than just Troops to make a legal army in 5th, right? And no, Tzeentch-marked CSM are not Thousand Sons.

As a note, Tigurius makes an excellent stand-in for Ahriman. You know, the real one, before he got hit with the nerf bat.

I could see a pre-heresy TS force including
Tigurius
Sternguard
Dreadnoughts
Terminators
Tac Marines
maybe land speeders/attack bikes/bikes, but not in large numbers
heavy tanks
Havocs
even Legion of the Damned make sense here

Probably no assault squads, no scouts.
