It's quite a nice model, but it continues to make me sad that the GD model isn't something a bit more unusual (how about something that wouldn't get made otherwise? A Navigator? Or an Astropath? Some feeing pesants?)

Meh. Basically a good model, but the helmet looks daft and the cloak doesn't work.

Its a ok model, nothing really mindblowing but I do like the painting on this one, specially the NMM

Didn't you get the memo? Evil cloaks have un-naturals shapes and blow forwards instead of back.

GW cloaks have always had unnatural shapes. Also ribbons, in the case of that space marine guy with the skull (very descriptive).

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Shins look fine to me. Perspective + different armour plates, that's all. The helmet is a little odd, but you can always dremel it out and use your own obviously superior sculpting skills.

I always imagine SMs screaming, but not Chaos Lords... they seem more the scowl and aura sort of dudes... with spikes you don't have to be overtly intimidating. Funny how I associate so much more nobility with Chaos Warriors than ragtag human rabble.

Why does GW insist on just retreading and retreading the same areas for their GD minis? There are certainly other popular topics they could do. Hell- a troll would be popular :p A daemon? A guardsman? A Necron?

You mean like the invisable Frodo they had the last one I went too two years ago? That was a slowed GD model.

It seems the GD models always seem to be Space Marines or Chaos Lords, with the occasional Orc/Ork warboss thrown in. I can't remember the last time it wasn't one of these. Of course, I don't exactly keep track of them, but those three types keep seeming to pop up again and again.

I liked him better when they showed this model in WD, before they stuck the crazy antlers/horns on him.

Apart from the ridiculous helmet its an ok model.

Agree with Joyous_Oblivion in that the last good model was Archaon on foot.

Oh sweet, a GD mini I'd actually use!

It looks pretty cool, but the right leg, at least from the angle in the picture, looks rather thin.

I'm glad it's not another generic recycled SM sculpt though

Think you missed the sarcasm there. The model is a re-do of this guy they haven't got round to releasing yet right?

I dunno...

Me Likey! As a fantasy Chaos player, this makes me even more determined to get to GD 09! They couldnt do a marine anyway as 08's was a marine (Which was nowhere near as good as this BTW) and that would just be greed on the marines part! I like the helmet, it's unusual and quirky

I'm on the fence I guess. I like the asymmetry in the armor, the eyes, and the horns on the helm work for me.

However, the axes are _horribly_ plain, the skulls are a mere afterthought, and that squid crest on the helm is begging to get filed off.

All told, I think it could be great, just needs some work. Meh.

Looks very, well, Chaosy. Not bad at all.

And can someone explain how you can be 'full of suck'? I'm too old to understand kids these days.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

Nowadays, these darn kids are describing cool models as "Full of win" or "Full of other cool adjective" and bad models as "Full of Fail" or, in this case, "Full of suck." I think these youngsters feel more hip and web-savy when they describe something as "full of adjective" rather than just saying the model is cool/sucks.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that was full of help.

I sure wish there was a Games Day Calgary, as I don't feel like traveling to the nearest place where there is one, which I think is about twice the length of England away...
