I just used Simple Green on two plastics soaking for 48 hours. I had used the GW Skull White spray primer on one and GW Chaos Black spray primer on the other. The SG pretty much took off 95% of the Citadel paints, but left the primer intact (except where I scrubbed too hard with the toothbrush).

I'm going to have to rip off some of these experiment ideas from you guys. I have used Simple Green a few times to strip models and I could swear it warped plastic slightly. My eyes could be deceiving me though.

I did not realize they were stuck to the bottom of the bases of the RT01 minis. The one in the picture that is still a little coppery was the side that had been glued to the base, hence it not loosing all its copper.

There are some variants in the Simple Green mixes you can buy, this might account for why some people have melted plastics with it or maybe something in the paint or primer is reacting to SG. So far, I have had no soft or warped plastics by SG. I get the 2 liter bottles of Concentrated Simple Green from WalMart's automotive department. I add a 3 to 4 ounces of water and fill the rest with SG and minis in 32oz glass pickle jars. Since I normally fill the jars close to the rim, I get about 4 to 5 jars out of each 2 liter bottle. I shake the jars occasionally.

Here is a picture of my current three jars:

Ha, I love that you use the pickle jars. That's awesome.

I use little salsa jars, as I don't need to strip so much at once, but I do have a 1-quart jar for larger objects.

Here is something I need a little clarification on. I glued a lot of the stuff I need to strip with both plastic glue and super glue. Will I have to break the super glue stuff apart before I give it a green bath or is it 'Awwwww right!' to just throw them in?

Once upon a time, I told myself it's better to be smart than lucky. Every day, the world proves me wrong a little more.

Super glue will normally either dissolve or at least separate in SG (at least for as long as I put it in SG for), it is plastic glue/cement that does not normally play nice. In the first picture I posted, the banners on both Terminator Captains separated fine and the RT01 Marines were all superglued together and now are in their original component parts. I did forget to warn (if it matters to anyone), SG will normally separate bases, even from most plastic minis, which might leave a messed up/damage base depending on what glue was used on it (and what other conversions were done to it).

Whoa, those pickle jars look cool. Like hundreds of little scientific subjects trying to escape.

Er.....anyway, I'll try that other kind of Simple Green when I get a chance to pick some up. I think the kind I've used is some sort of window or table cleaner.

Plastic cement literally welds the two parts together. No solvent can undo it.

Superglue will usually become a soft gel in Castrol Super Clean, so it comes off pretty cleanly.

I just want to throw my other two cents in for Super Clean (tm) which it now goes by. I went to pick up a bottle at Walmart to test it out. Let me just say, I've tried the "other" stippers before, and none of them ever came near the cleaning ability of the Super Clean I used last night. A+++
