What are the rules for a Stompa in combat? Is it just a big Dreadnought?

5 black templar terminators with TH/SS, furious assault, in LR with emperors champion+accept any challenge, and smoke launchers, might be slightly over but near as dammit. LRCmoves up in first turn, pops smoke, second turn everything inside gets out and batters stompa with thunder hammers at strength 9, re-rolling misses. i think that works...

2 ironclads with Dpods = 340pts

Pod the dreads to assault the sucker while thr MOH beams it from affar.

Well, it's S10, I1, and as far as I can tell, the OP has put 1-4 attacks.

Though that really doesn't help when he lists all of the long range capability as "a huge pile of weapons".

EDIT: I think I've found the ultimate loophole. If there's no FOC, Why not bring 500 points of Orbital Bombardment (Probably Six Melta Torpedoes)? Even If you don't kill the Stompa, you still didn't lose! The best the Stompa can hope for is a tie, as it literally hasn't killed anything (it exhausted a lot of points, but didn't kill anything). Not that I would actually do this (Stompa would probably just go hide in a corner), but I thought it was pretty funny.

Well you'd have to bring an inquisitor, but that would still be funny as hell when you put down one 20 point model to fight da stompa...

(Heh, you could field 6 for a points cost comparable to the Stompa. Maybe even more)

You know, if the stompa has minimum range weapons like some of the titans, then DS melta troops could REALLY screw its day up.

It doesn't have mini range- and really messes things up in assault....

I was a little concerned with giving all of the info from a GW IP perspective.

But really, I just didn't want to deal with having to type up all of the SH & Orky special rules.

Besides, if people want the details of how hard the Stompa hits back, online stuff like Army Builder has the basic info...

Is there a link of this event DD? I might want my store to do it.

Number of attacks is meaningless, as SH walkers have a special Stomp Attack that can hit everyone in combat with it.

It's not meaningless when you're attacking a single model. Like another super-heavy.

Sorry, I thought we were referring to it in relation to this specific event, which doesn't allow Super Heavies(aside from the target Stompa, of course). You are, of course, correct when facing a Stompa with other Super Heavies. Against UNITS, number of attacks is (generally) meaningless because of the Stomp.
