I think the painting is a little monotone and could have a lot more narrative and depth, however, it's very neat and effective looking.

Thanks a bunch for sharing the images too!!!

umm im not sure about the crews???? maybe use normal guard parts cause they are ment to be troop served and it would be the guard in the bay that would fire them.

As a painter who I respect a lot, thank you for your comments.

This one was painted to match the rest of my guard tanks. I wanted to go for a real world look on them, I agree that in game terms they look a bit simple but when there are loads of tanks all together it looks cool

I will take some group shots at some point to show you guys.

In regards to the crew, they will be normal guard that match my army but maybe with a twist All i need now is the bloody models!

Thanks for all the great comments guys, I love this forum

also, since you paint quickly like i do via the old sprays, check ebay every now and then, ive managed to buy a few new cans of BA red spray from there and also picked up a few cans of ard coat.

Edit: spelling.

Cheers for the tip, ive never thought of getting them of ebay. Ive got 3 1/2 cans left and i feel the new guard release may well use up all my stocks

If I could recommend anything, it would be catachan arms. Heavy stubbers need heavy arm muscles to make them cool!! Although that wouldn't tie in well with your cadians? I'd love to see that whole army pic!

no probs
i had a small stock of each colour before they stopped selling them, it made things nice and easy with them when you could simply spray a model, then highlight / drybrush then detail it.

I just got the new spray gun, im hoping that i can achieve a similar result with that?

Pintle mounted Heavy Stubbers have been back since the last Guard codex. And before that they made a reappearance in the Eye of Terror codex with the Lost and the Damned.

Back OT, Grandmaster, the tank looks nice, very clean job on it. And I'll vote for adding crew to the Stubbers.

I'm sure, please share more of your guard when you have the time! In fact I have the same situation with my guard and have been pondering about what to do when I add more stuff. I've come to the conclusion to go with a different scheme, lighter, so I can add more wear and tear and layers of dirt, rather than dirt.

And before that, they were in the Armageddon Codex with the Hive Gang Militia.

Here is most of my Guard army. It was done 6 years ago when the last codex came out I will do a group image at some time

On the stubber question all of my Guard tanks have them, and when I fire them i have to say "stubber death" as I roll and they seem to do more damage than the main guns I love them

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

Nice armies , by the way I liked the forge world idea of a lump of men to represent a full troop carrier. I was going to do it with my orks, but I ...er... didn't. But this is what I mean.

Well the ratlings are still here, though the squats and their trikes are long gone, which I'm kinda sad about as I got into 40K right as squats vanished.
