Also the Abrahms are extremely well executed. They look huge though, how do they compare, size wise to Russes? Are they Baneblade sized?

Thanks. The M1A1s are the same width as a russ and about twice as long. Both of them side by side are roughly the footprint of a baneblade to give you an idea of scale.

Excellent. now do five more and post your army!

Actually I have eight of them already. I have just been off working on other armies. Really should get back and finish this army off though.

ok now i know spending 55 quid on one chimera sounds stupid as its only a troop carryer with perks. but has anyone seen the new warhammer empire steem tank. its £35 and a chimera is £20 put them to gether and i think you have a perfect Mordiam or Vostroyan tank.

forget the steam engien forget the main gun. chimera tanktracks your choice of eithere turet and a few body mods and i think you have one ace looking tank.

any artst out there? get thoes grafics programs running or get that sketch pad out and find your 2b pencel. id love to see anything you can make out of this.

i would not often splach out £55 pounds on somthing that could end up looking like i could of done better using a machete instead of a modeling knife but if some one els can visulise it too then it may not be such a bad idea

I can remember reading somewhere theres a few kits that fit with the chimera which you can use to re do the interior. Anyone got any ideas/previous experience?
the article was in a way old WD- Fred Reeds imperial guard. Had an ogryn with carpace armour made from that plate of the hellhound.

Got to love the low tech guard-very WW2 which is the biggest source i use for modelling. its more gritty as well.

some really nice models today-if only i had money to buy stuff!

I have a Cadian guard force (with some steel legion stuff still half finished) But all my vehicles have WWII inspired paint jobs (with the exception of my all black Commissar tank...)

Just a thought on the Predator turrets, if you care to modify anything at this point (I realise I'm rather splitting hairs on an extremely nice model ). I notice that you're using the predator TLLC turret bustle, rather than the AC one, while sticking with the AC as main weapon. You can easily replace the Predator turret AC with the Chimera multilaser, to match the "las" style bustle. A couple of my chimeras shown below:

yeah, its the way to do vehicles-well i think. not to the extreme of russian vehicles covered in riders but the shermans/halftracks/marders etc are all almost directly related to russ/chimera/basilisk.

theres a book called "painting tanks and military vehicles" by shepard paine. great book-so much stuff in there. id recommend any modeller to get it.

is anyone getting the new forgeoworld modelling book?

Here you go. The paint scheme for the windows is pretty basic: regal blue basecoat, then mixing up to ice blue (4 or 5 layers), blue wash, adding in a white highlight in the end.

If I manage to finish the chimera, I'll post a pic of that too so you can see how it looks all done.

We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.

He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.
