Started work on the upper body. When I get home from work today, I plan to add the chains up top. Fun fun! Here's some pics.

Here's some of the shots of those tricky curved parts on the leg. I'm sure there's some easier and nicer way to do it, but my main tools are a metal ruler and a heavy duty exacto - nothing to fancy!

Here's one of the pieces I'm talking about.

The curved portion is where the PVC joints attach. I decided the easiest way would be to poke many holes as a guide then slowly play connect the dots with the knife.

I then run the knife blade across the curved line to clear up the bumps and ragged edges.

So! Hard part done! Now just to put the top part on. . .

CURSES! Plasticard isn't as bendy as I hoped. I originally though I could take a lighter to the piece and bend it when it was warm, but all I really managed to do is warp the piece and burn myself. So I thought I'd do the following:

I made the mistake of bending this piece too much and snapped it in half, but nothing glue can't fix!

You need to purchase 'Evergreen V groove sheets to make those curves. I use the 1mm spaced grooved sheet and it works fine for about any diameter curve. it's 0.5mm thick and use two layers or more if you want it thicker.

Use a 'round' or 'rat tail' file or a piece of sandpaper wrapped around a dowel to smooth the inside curves after you rough cut them out.

It's coming along nicely,

Had I know about that special sheeting, it probably woulda saved my wrists a lot of strain. Thanks for the suggestion! In the future I'll look that stuff up.

I finished most of the body detail, including the chains! Man do I love chains. Next up guns, and possibly more detail on the front grill.

I am inclined to agree with him.

what you might want to do is add a bunch more greenstuffed guts between the pink blobs to make it look like the whole top part of the titan is littered with gibs.

that would be awesome.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.

The pink bits are supposed to be fleshy lumps the brass spikes grew out off, like the titan is metal with flesh underneath. That paint scheme is how I've done the raw flesh look on my oblits and DP. I might add some blood oozing out beneath them to not make them stick out so much. The pics make 'em seem a little more pink then they are in person - they've got more a red tinge to them.

Here's an example of the fleshy pink treatment on top of one of my Land raiders:

Yes it is Chaos-y tentacle rapez of the worst kind! I figured if I was gonna have a demonically possessed Land Raider, if should have a demon poking out of the top, and that demon should have a friend to play with.

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions! I've added some pools of blood around the fleshy bits on top to help them blend in a bit more. Plus, more blood is never a bad thing. I've mostly finished up the plasma gun and will be working on the turbo laser tonight and tomorrow. The plasma tanks on most 40k guns are normally green so i went that route, still not sure what to do with the banks of batteries/power cells/ what have you underneath the turbo laser gun. Maybe blue I'm thinking? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Anyhoo here's some pics:

These are the power cells I mentioned. Like I said I'm thinking blue with lighter blue highlights so far. Any other suggestions?

Dude, you need to put that lightning effect on the coils, too! That'd be awesome. Also, I wonder if there's anything lying about the apartment to give a kind of 3D pooling of the blood. Maybe PVA?

I think I might stick to Traitor Guard Baneblades and artillery. As much fun as I've had building and painting the Warhound, just thinking about doing a Warlord blows my mind right now. I still have to think of where I'm gonna store this beast when I'm done.

In regards to the blood pools, I just layered two thick coats of red gore. Under the ork I just put excess plastic cement under him and painted that. It looks pretty similar.

Awwww,

well I have a suggestion it would look more like you titian had flesh under its armor if it was also in other places, and have a little more flesh growing over the armor. While I do think the pink is okay I like my daemons a little more reddish kinda like GW's painted Daemon Prince. Good job keep kicking ass.

Almost done with the paint on the guns, added the chains, and working on the hanging heads. I think I might need to reinforce the waist joint - the top body part is getting a little wobbly. I'm waiting until all the painting is done before I add the terminator banner, I didn't want him bouncing around while I moved the model this way and that trying to paint everything. Here's some pics:

Oh man! It's finished! All the chain bits are complete and bedecked with heads. I may possibly add some dirt weathering on the feet, but for now, it's as done as it's gonna be methinks! Here's da pics!

And I hope this thread shows that even with modeling skills that aren't the greatest, anyone can build a serviceable Titan with enough pig headedness and determination. I have a few templates for Warhound titans available, and I'd be happy to share them with anyone that wants them. Simply send me a PM with an email address and I'll email em right out.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions! GLORY TO CHAOS!

Overall, fantastic work in a very short amount of time. This has me ][ this close to making one myself.

My only nitpick is that you have a chaos titan, with bloody/gory bitz all over it, and it looks like it just walked out of MAACO.

I would suggest to add some battle damage (paint chips, dirt around the feet), paint rubbing off of the edges, etc. It looks really clean otherwise (which chaos shouldn't)

Great work otherwise!

That is a good point - I think will do some weathering after I take a break by doing some other models.

And I think you should make one! Tons of fun to make.
