Straken makes me want to start a Traitor IG army.

i like but don't love any of the three. they're better than what i would be able to kit bash. as for straken, finally we get a model in 40k with a BIONIC NIPPLE! dietrich, if you do a traitor IG army, make sure you paint straken up in slaneesh colors.

The executioner is only ok IMHO. The punisher looks exactly like it does in the codex and exactly what I would expect. For the executioner however i'll stick with:

The only thing I like is the Punisher turret actually. I agree the Executioner turret is too long, but it appears that the tail end of it is a seperate piece and may not have to be used. Also, I don't care for the Straken model. Mostly its the bare chested thing.

I like Straken...but it just makes me want to see the sculpts for the other new special characters even more.

Punisher is pretty much exactly what I expected. So I'm neither upset nor ecstatic about it.

The new Leman Russ Demolisher kit is £30/US$49.50, so following GW's trends the new Leman Russ kit should be 5 to 10 quatloos less depending where you live. Or if GW follows one of their other trends (bug gak pricing) then they might foist it on us for the same price as the Demolisher. But I doubt it.

In all fairness the hellhound/banewolf/devil dog turrets all ended up being EXACTLY as they were pictured in the codex so this should come as no surprise.

Not my mother, she charges at least two Valkyries/LRs/BWs!

The Punisher looks adowable, like a duplo My First Gau-8. The executioner looks a bit bland, but I suppose that is the fault of the paintjob.

I like all of it. The elongated turret goes a long way towards making the Russ look less stupid.

While Straken does indeed look really cool, I don't get why we get one.
Besides the already mentioned awkward gun pose, there's not much wrong with the old model.
Shouldn't they be focusing on the special characters which don't have a model yet? Like that Bastione guy. afaik there's already a model for that Ogryn bodyguard, but he'll probably looks aweful next to the new Ogryns.

The tanks are okay, but the FW plasma gun looks much better.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Straken is great. Very nice improvement on the old model.

The Executioner is decent, but I do prefer the original and the 8-foot long hull HB detracts from the model.

Punnisher is all sorts of lame. But that's fine. Punishers are lame anyway.

All said I probably won't get any of it because:

1. I don't collect Catachans (he is a very nice model though...)
2. I don't want any more Russes. If they release the turret as a separate sprue (like they're about to do with the Redeemer/Crusader sponson sprue) then sure, but no, I don't need more than the 30 Russes I have now.
3. I can convert my own Punisher turret. Thanks to my Vanquisher turrets I have about 5 spare Russ turrets, so converting one using the Vulcan parts from my Shadowsword kits shouldn't be that hard.

sexy all round

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

The FW turret is a complete kit, no extra plastic parts needed.

Im willing to bet Straken will be Direct only like the advisors. GW is getting sneaky.

As for the new demolisher/executioner/punisher I like the models but Im waiting to see the price tag, which upon just checking the GW site is the same as the current Demolisher kit and cheaper then the steam tank still somehow......

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!
