Total?

I spend roughly $40 a month on movies...(Dependant on if there's something I actually want to watch)

About $30 a month on a new Video-Game/DVD

And $25-35 a month on WH40k items, considering I buy a single box of [Insert unit here] every month...

Bringing my total to somewhere in the range of: $95-105...

I'm blaming that on the Internet's Rule of Anonymity.

16 at this point said 1000+. I call BS. Unless they're getting pilot's lessons...

Now, if they're also including wining and dining the fairer sex, then I might see that as possible.

If I include taking the wife to nice dinners and movies and the theater and the museum and so on PLUS my little plastic men and my Pathfinder books and my HH books, then you're talking 400-500, easy. More than that in the summer, but vacations you save up for all year.

Not surprising. I've been into 40K for 4 weeks now, I've currently spent about £200 or so. Totally worth it

I clock in at around 950$. Most of it goes into liver-abuse, but normally I spend like 50$ a month 40K, but as I currently have an ork-load to paint I'm down to the bare essentials I need for that - paint and brushes.

If I wanted to be liberal with the question I could have put 1000+,

Typically I buy a new video game or two monthly, go to the movies a few times, buy odds and ends to work on all the unfinished minis in boxes I have, eat out a lot, monthly video game costs, netflix, xbox live, It all adds up.

Those items typically run me 200-350 a month.

If I thought about it I would have marked it higher though, since internet and cable bills are also entertainment, and I save back about 100 each month for vacation in the summer.

That would have put me at 500-600.

Now creatively I could say that driving my car was "entertainment" and thrown the car payment and insurance in there, as well as gas. That would have easily tipped over the $1000+ category.
It's all about how you interpret the question

I would presume that's working people, like me, who don't have kids to worry about. I get to spend all my cash on me, although, i do about £500 a month on my most important hobby (regularly getting leathered) so that doesn't leave too much for mini's.

But yeah, I think aside from the children of millionaire businessmen, only a working man gets that much to spend. My Dad was generous and he gave me £10 a week pocket money.

Although, that was in what.. 1990?

So do currency conversion.. add in inflation...

it IS about $1000!

Easily over $1000 USD per month. I'm a successful engineer with a 6 figure salary, no kids, no mortgage, and a wife who's into gaming and general nerdiness. I only wish I had the time that my poorer dakkanaughts have.

I think a better poll would be how much do you spend on your entertainment AND how much time can you spend on entertainment as someone stated before. $500 USD isn't that hard to spend on anything as everything is getting more and more expensive due to the current economic state of the world. Even hitting the $1000 a month mark isn't all that hard either. The average contractual cell phone bill is close to, if not well over $100 a month if you really want to do anything other than have 30 minutes a month. Even pay as you go runs $50 a month. For those of you who say phones aren't "entertainment" just look at what you use your phone for most, and I'm pretty sure it's not 100% work. The average all inclusive internet/tv/phone plans are right around $100 a month and upwards of $150-200 if you want all the extra channels, HD, DVR, and whatever else they come up with next week. If you plan a vacation they can easily cost in the multi-thousands of dollars, divided over 12 months, can be an extra $120 on up. Just to going to 1 movie can easily run well over $30 for one person.

Just sit down and really think about all the money you spend on fun. This includes fuel to get to your entertainment destination, what you spend when there on "non-essential" items, and what you spend on the actual event. I generally do not include dinner out in this budget, unless I'm going to medieval times or something like that. So the cash is there, but those who can routinely spend well over $1K USD on entertainment probably don't have much time to spend on fun since they are working 80 and 90 hours weeks. Personally, I think it's all give and take, the more cash you have, the less time you can spend doing what you want. I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and unhappy.

I don't play computer games much - so I have no need to rush out and buy the latest chapter of boringD&Dgame#3211-Baldur'sEverquestforskyrim part 2 or the latest girlymansandtomboyswithhugeswordsbeltingthecrapoutofeachother XVIII.

There are very few movies I want to see - I can usually wait until it hits cable or dvd.
I get a book or three a year.

Most of my entertainment comes from gaming.

$51-100 USD. Mostly our cable access and the odd dvd.
