I was pretty psyched for a line of plastic floor tiles and a set of 40k boarding action rules for all armies.

That's something that would generate sales for years to come rather than a one-off.

I ordered SH too but my mind is most certainly not blown.

Is that what you expected from the 'Mystery Box' or what you expected Space Hulk to be?

Pretty much both.

So you expected Space Hulk --- the 20-year-old stand-alone board game based around the concept of Terminators fighting Genestealers --- to be about something other than Terminators and Genestealers and, in fact, for it to be an expansion to the rules for 40K?

That seems a little odd to me...

Maybe not 'expected' more like how I would have done it.

I always had a problem with the whole terminator deal. SH was written before a lot of the SM fluff was codified. Now that its canon that termi armor is super rare and irreplacible, why would the Imperium send them (and only them) into space hulks to be carved up by genestealers when they could send in 10^23 guardsmen instead? Anyway the name of the game is Space Hulk, not Termis vs Tyranids.

And I think a Space Hulk for 40k would be very popular especially as a starter game rather than a stand-alone with imcompatible rules.

I don't disagree at all Kyoto, and I wish it were that way.

Still not disappointed with what we got though, as the miniature quality was far and beyond what we've become used for "starter" models.

I would dearly love to see a Guard vs Genestealers scenario...
