I got my PS3 during one of those special "sign up for a Sony credit card" deals, paid off the credit
card right away and paid zero interest to boot.

I like it a lot, but I'd probably play Disgaea 3 more if I had a television that would make
it possible for me to read the text in the game. My current television is old but we
refuse to spend the money for a nicer one.

So instead I just paint models...

Not sure that backwards compatability is such an issue for me. Just because I buy my PS3, doesn't mean my PS2 is going to stop working?

Thanks, I was actually talking to my department supervisor(and fellow nerd) about the price drops. He said that the elite was dropping and that he thinks the pro will drop to the arcade's pricing until they're all gone.

I believe its because of the PS3 slim coming out. The elite and the slim will have the same memory and the same prices.

@ typeline, what bad games? I can list all of the 360 exclusives too:
Master Chief 1-3, Master Chief without a shield or ODST, Marcus Phoenix 1-2, Mass Effect, Forza Racing, NonFPS Master Chief...

i was happy with my PS2 and Wii... and had no plans to buy either a 360 OR a PS3.

but when a co-worker offered me a backwards compatable (i think a pro??) 360 with all the cables, a head set, 2 games, and 2 controllers all for $150.... i jumped on it.


it dont got much for memory (i think like 13-15 gig). but since i dont do a lot of crap involving movie downloads and music stuff. i really dont care. i download some game demos, and when im done i remove them.



i know with the 360 you have to buy microsoft "Points" to do some of the cooler stuff... do you need to do this on the PS3 as well???

No you don't need points, you actually use dollar values.

Both XB and PS3 are great. We know the media capabilitys of the PS3 are way better than XB, but I think Live is a better online platform.

The debate can go on and on, but the thing that does matter is this is great news for gamers who've wanted to go next gen, but can't afford it. PS3 has many great exclusives, MSG4 and Little Big Planet namely, as well as Infamous, as well as many of the great games Xbox players enjoy.
