Looks like this project is turning into some kind of geese for you.

The army could probably use a hag.

Not a LAWYER!
To all that responded, thanks, your ideas have been noted.
By the way, it's not really a horde army at all. It's an ork biker army, so really with Rob Anybody (wazdakka gutsmek) I get bikers as troops, and the choice is 3-12 i think per squad. Let me explain my reasoning:
a) I've always wanted to play a biker army of any race, but they're really expensive and a drain on your wallet
b) Feegles are supposed to be 10 times faster than a man, and 10 times stronger. So, I should have a movement of 60 inches and a strength of 30. That's not going to happen without some mild complaints from my opponents, so I picked bikers. I can move 12-24 inches, or 2-4 times faster than a man, and a toughness of five, or four against instant death. thats tougher than a man, and when I charge thanks to furious charge I'll be a bit stronger too.
So, it all works.
Just to show you some comparisons:
Big Man: warboss (or in this case, wazdakka gutsmek)
Gonnagle: could be weirdboy or a big mek with shokk attack gun, they both have strange effects which could be brought about by mousepipes
Kelda: doesn't fit, maybe an objective marker?
aviator: Deffkoptas and stormboys.
Horace the cheese: a bomb squig for some tankbustas. Tankbustas will be regular feegles, but perhaps they go slower because they have to take aim to shoot their... (PROBLEM: what the heck will they shoot? Special sheep Liniment bombs? Wads of Jolly Sailor Tobacco? ROcks?)
Lawyer Toad:I'm not sure yet, ideas are welcome!
Bogle, in other words feegles disguised in a scarecrow suit to get into a bar and drink all the whiskey: killa kans

That's all i've planned so far, but any suggestions are more than welcome!

Death By Monkeys wrote:Okay, not to be a wet blanket, as I'm a big fan of the Nac Mac Feegle myself, but this is a huge task you're looking at here. I assume you're planning to use Ork rules for this, right? Here's the problem I see after trying to convert a Tanith IG army: when each model in the army requires significant conversion and you have to multiply that by a very large number for a horde army (like Orks or IG foot), you've got to be committed to putting a tremendous amount of time and effort into the project.

What about starting a little smaller - like making a Nac Mac Feegle Blood Bowl Team? Or Necromunda Gang? That way you get a feel for the level of effort necessary - and if all goes well, you can scale up production to the level of an army.

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you reminded me. Basically, my reasoning is this: I don't have an awful lot of money, so I'm going to take a LONG time for every conversion piece so that my money accumulates while I work on this proiject, and i can actually afford to buy something later on. I'm also a terrible sculptor with green stuff, and my painting's not that good, so I'm going to have to be really patient. I'm not expecting this project to go fast at all, it'll take months.

Oh yes, I forgot. Someone mentioned sheep, didn't they?
well, the thought of battlewagons came up and they aren't really feasible. I mean, what kind of vehicle would feegles drive? the answer came to me at once. My vehicles will be various sizes of beasties being lifted by feegles and zoomed across the battlfield.

This brings to mind my next little problem. Should I construct these little men in such a way that they reflect only their own universe, or should they clearly be present in the 40k universe?
example: feegles stealing cow VS feegles stealing carnifex
example: feegles wearing scarecrow clothes VS feegles wearing battlesuit armour

Thanks again!

for feegles start with "Wee Free Men". It's actually marketed as a young adult novel, but don't let that stop you.

For some of the other references (Discworld) you can start with the first novel "The Light Fantastic". I think the series is around twenty - twenty five books. If you don't want to do the whole thing try "Guards, guards". That is the first of the "Watch" books.

Actually the first is The Colour of Magic, but it isn't the best to start with, its very tiring if you're not used to his writing.
there will be 37 books as of this october.

I think you may be thinking of a Geas. Geese are flying creatures, prone to go HONK! when you least expect.

Nightwatch wrote:(PROBLEM: what the heck will they shoot? Special sheep Liniment bombs? Wads of Jolly Sailor Tobacco? ROcks?)

They could throw sheep and cows and stuff. Boulders and small buildings (Privets? ) are probably not excluded as missiles in their arsenal either.

But their main weapon will always be the greatsword, so slingshots modeled at the belt, or tiny bows and arrows. High velocity mouse-tooth shootas, maybe.

If you're not going with the Nac Mac clan specifically, you could have the King of Lancre (Magrat's husband, don't remember his name at this moment in time(the ex-court jester),) after he's taken some of the local Kelda's special herb drink. Bet that'd be a funny model.

Esme Weatherwax, Gytha Ogg and Magrat could be weirdboyz.

How large are Dwarf Slayer heads compared to Gretchin? Probably WAY too big.. I still think gretchin bodies would be good, if you aren't going to make them to size that is.

If that's not enough for you, you can get all the countless supplementary literature. I have nearly everything, and it takes up about 2 meters of bookshelf space.

I love you, sir.
Joking apart,
I like the idea of sheep throwing, although it sounds too much like Worms to me.
I'm not making them to scale because it's hard to keep detail when you only go halfway up a guardsman's knee.
I was going to use gretchin initially, but some of the bodies are hard to manipulate and the gnoblars cost less. Also, the gnoblars faces already have rounded noses so I imagine they'd be easier to sculpt onto. I'm still on the lookout for better heads though.

I'd say go for the 40K slant (Oh gods !... Slant.... Another fething lawyer !)

The idea of a Fex being feegle-handled across the board sounds great
