All ideas welcomed, ZeinEizoku. I'm currently working up your original colours on a Power Armour mini and a blend of that with my original scheme on another, so a visual of a Terminator in your colourscheme would be good to see.

This is what I came up with. Sadly, I cannot demonstrate the Silver coloring. I can however point out what is supposed to be "Metallic" or "Mithril" Silver, those would be, any joint supports, the Eagle and Skulls, and finally the Terminus Curix. The power fist fingers section is more "Boltgun" metal.

Feel free to modify this and warp it too your style ^__^

I hope you like it

That's pretty much how I visualised it based on your original image. Terminators and Veterans scheme sorted, thanks ZeinEizoku

No problem Reaper6 I am glad to help, I am more Excited to see what they will look like, I wish I could illustrate the tiger Pattern Camo on the very harsh Ice Blue... but o well I am too lazy to Photo Shop it XD

I would say, if I would have to describe it, use some space wolf grey with some quick striping sort of scratched or tiger, then put some Skull White in a thin line within and some around the Space wolf Grey...

Well I am off to make a Camera Light Box,

Second and Third Concept workups finished ! First up, the workup of the idea suggested by ZeinEizoku. I've taken the liberty of changing the style of the Company Number on the knee from Gothic to Roman Numerals (personal preference) and temperorarily changed the helmet lenses.

I remind you (politely) that these are rough workups, so it's about the colours, not the quality (my first post shows my Table-top standard). I know some areas could be smoother and the white sections need shading, but I wanted these done and posted.
For ease of reference, I'm calling this scheme "Zein Pattern".

ZeinEizoku's concept allowed me to take my own in a slightly different direction, a fusion of his suggestions and my original idea. This time, I've incorporated the Company Colour into the Squad Type marking on the shoulder.
For ease of reference, I'm calling this "Zein/Reaper Pattern".

The Evolution so far. Left to Right, Original Concept, Zein Pattern, Zein/Reaper Pattern.

My current thought is to put the Company Colour Bar back on the Zein/Reaper pattern kneepad and use it for the basic Marines, whilst keeping the Zein Pattern for Veterans (Stern & Vanguard). To that end, I'm about to start the workup of Zein Pattern on a Terminator (possibly swapping the White for either Silver or Boltgun Metal).

So, Dakka, Opinions ? Input ? General making fun of ? Open fire, all incoming welcomed. Oh, pics in Gallery if you want to vote. If you vote for Zein Pattern there, please pop across to his gallery and vote on his stuff. He gave me the rights to his concept, so it's only fair (Even if it's just a coolness vote on his concept image)

Hmm, good thinking . In fact, if I change the feet of the Zein Pattern to blue, it might work if I do the same to the gloves. ( I've got a fluff explanation growing in my mind even as I type this !)

Finally finished the basic Terminator workup. !

The basic scheme, as I said, is Zein pattern with a couple of small modifications. The Silver has been replaced with Boltgun Metal, to allow for Silver highlighting, and the suggestions for colouring the feet have been incorporated. Also, the chest wings are now based with white (with black wash and silver heavy drybrush) and Crux Terminatus has been changed to a stone grey (as they were back in the day when Termi's were first released)

So, the current result is...

Remember, this is about the COLOURS at the moment, detailed gak will come later.

1hadhq : Your suggestion of Gold helmets has been taken on board. I was thinking that might be a nice touch for the Terminator Sergeants.

So, opinions ? (I'm really enjoying this feeling of collaboration BTW)

I've already got something in mind there

Dreadnoughts will be based around the Terminator scheme (Started on an AoBR Dread earlier today). Basic vehicles (Rhino/Predator) will follow the Zein/Reaper pattern, SW Grey central bodywork with White "Track Panniers" and side armour. Turrets and Sponsons possibly black for contrast (like the bolters on the Tactical Marines)

Thanks, Marushi. The pic of the Terminator does make the metal a little dark, Unfortunately it was taken with a cellphone camera and the flash was a little too high up, casting the legs in shadow. The Dread was taken in good sunlight, so the legs look better. In reality, they are both about the same as seen on the dread.

Yeah, I thought you'd like that , Somehow, the idea of heat weapons on an "Ice" chapter dread just seemed to fit, in a backwards kind of way .

I've been refining the fluff, and I think I have a way to use both Zein pattern (Ice Blue/White) as the Panthers, and Zein/Reaper (SW Grey/White) for a Space Wolves tribute chapter.

I just need to come up with a name that has the right "Wolf" sound to it. All I've come up with so far is Cobalt Wolves !

I like the colour scheme, ispecially the bright glacier-like one. I support the call for snowed or atleast cold-looking bases.

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"

Is that followed by a pile-in move?

That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"

Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round?

I also quite like the middle one - although I might tone the bright blue down a notch.

On the terminator I would go for the same color scheme - not the hectic silver, but the white armor plates on legs and arms, then blue hands / feet.

Definately snow / ice bases.

At the moment I'm just basing to fit with my Ultramarines army, but I'm thinking of putting a small amount of snow on as well when I start the "production" models, in keeping with the "edge of the tundra" theme in the fluff I'm writing.

ironKing : Sorry I missed you post earlier, it must have come up whilst I was typing. Feel free to copy and modify as you wish, sharing ideas is part of the fun of the hobby for me.

slann : Glad to hear I've given you something new to look at, though some credit must go to ZeinEizoku for his input on colour and layout.

Ramos Asura : The silver will only be used on Terminators and dreadnoughts for the Blue scheme, everything else will be offset with white, and the grey scheme will only feature the white offset even on the Terminators.

All : I'm glad this project is generating such positive feedback (even the "not keen on" posts make good points). I'll be starting work on squads soon, unless there are any more suggestions to try out in the next few days.

Just a quick update !

I've finally had a chance to snap a couple pics of the dreadnought. Oh, before any says "Snow Bases ", I'm thinking of putting a light dusting of snow on when I finally get around to buying some, but I'm not entirely decided yet (I'm not a huge fan of snow bases, they look out of place on aything other than a snow theme table).

So, the pics :

Still a couple of finishing touches left to do, but it's pretty much there.
