I want to find something nice to say about these or the heads.
But the only thing I am even considering ordering are the friggin' stowage and eagles for my Chimeras/Sentinels.

I may consider getting one set of the models, but I'd shave off the coat-guy's boner. Or, swap heads with the other guy so he's squinting at something arousing. Hehe.
Ah, immaturity in the teen years.

My Dad was in the Royal Tank Regiment and I guarantee that he didn't have to repair his Tank.
These guys should be labelled as Tank Engineers not Tank Crew.
Tank Crew don't repair vehicles IRL.

I was hopping the "Tank Crew" would of been a release of the old tank crew, at least they had weapons on the run.

Keep in mind in WWII the tank crews have a history of maintaining their AFVs in the field.
Which is more in line with how the IG are anachronistically styled.

Well I guess the Brits dont but I have alot of old buddies who are US tankers, and although they dont "mechanic" their tanks I assure you they do work on them! They can fix track and all that sort of stuff.

I agree.
I got a friend based at I think Rammstein, Germany and he was fixing his tank tracks in Basra, Iraq a few years ago. A bullet grazed his ear and killed his CO.

I'm pretty sure most tank crews would be able to patch their tank up - not so much repair it, but get things that break all the time wokring again, or bypass things to bring stuff back to working order - nothing too fancy, just enough to keep certain systems going.
And those heads are just... wow... Pig Iron all the way I say.

Those new GW heads are horrible looking.
As for the tankers, I like the M2, I mean 'Heavy stubber' barrel he has in his hand. The squinty face reminds me of Clint Eastwood.

As if on cue, you hear two people singing from the stairwell, and the door is opened and a pair of very smelly, very dirty guardsmen stumble in, completely drunk, and covered in vomit, and immediately collapse unconsious on the porch. You drag them to their beds, realising that they will not be waking up for some time. |

Tank crews have always had to do a lot of the dirty work, including changing tracks, refueling, greasing bogies, clearing mud and even repainting. Maintenance crews do the big jobs like changing engines.
These latest Guard releases are a real mixture of the good, the bad and the indifferent. For all the complaining about GW, this is their fundamental problem - inconsistency.
For a start, they've suddenly taken a step backwards and essentially replicated the (IMO) best bits from the plastic vehicle accessory sprue with a blister of metal stowage. This doesn't make sense, other than from a cost perspective - suddenly we're back to gluing metal bits onto plastic models. What should have been released was a revised Guard accessory sprue, with lots of stowage and maybe some extra crew and without any of the bits that are already included on the revised vehicle sprues. I guess the metal stowage will help add weight to plastic tanks, but it seems like a cop-out to me.
The tank crew are rather ugly looking, and not very imaginative. Crewmen working on tanks don't generally wear their best gear, so there's not much they can do with that, but the sculpting is off and they could have made them look more interesting. The heads are simply horrible, and are presumably the work of a trainee sculptor. There's nothing really wrong with the commanders, except that they're old models and don't really belong with the current line of plastic Guard. Meanwhile, Straken and Harker are amongst the best Guard characters they've done, and show up the other stuff being released alongside them. It feels as though they ran out of resources for the first wave of Guard releases, and have padded it out with odds & sods.

There are also the tank commander blisters that for some reason GW did not advertise. They just showed up as new releases. Unless I missed somthing. They are pretty cool.
