wat i would do is stick with the origional rules, 2+/2+ invun ect, 8+d6 att.
but give it a special rule "endless hunger"
the model has 12 acid pts and every time it moves/runs/charges it loses an acid ponit, and for every round of cc. for every organic unit it kills (not necrons (no acid) and not demons (not got acid)) it regains four acid points. it can assult friendly units.

No i think the original rules, especially the save one, should be scrapped.
What are acid pts, i dont play tyranids.

I don't care if this thing was 500 points, how in the hell is this justifiable??? S10? T7? Must suffer 2 Wounds to die? 36" charge range?
You have not created ANYthing new, all you did was pick the best special rules and slapped them onto this creature.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Yeah, I have to agree. The Lauriigon as it stands is incredibly powerful. 36" charge and exactly a 1/36 chance of dieing for every wound inflicted, which will be even more rare because of the T7 (missiles bounce 2/3 of the time after all...). Listen to the advice others have given, adjust the rules accordingly and opponents will let you use it.

Remove the immunity rule and insane rule. Give it 2 wounds and a decent amour save, lets say 3+ with re rolls and it could work

I'd let him use it as is.
But i get to create a weapon of my own devising aswell to counter it.
Something along the lines of....
Distort cannon+
Range: 60
Strength: X (wounds on a 2+)
AP: 1 (ignores invulnerable)
Type: Heavy 3, blast, barrage, pinning
Special rules.
Vehicle mounts: may replace any vehicle weapons for 150 points
Accurate: You may choose the dice rolls when scattering
Warp hole: Anything wounded takes D6 wounds for each wound caused
On a more serious note... Seriously needs a toning down. Several good ideas have already been posted, try incorporating them.

Your joking, amirite? You can have that, but I'll take this if so.
Castrator
A large metal rod, with 100' of new hobby knife's on the end.
Special Rules
"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
If your opponent is using a Lauriigon, you MUST reach out and rip their genitals to shreds with the Castrator.
Joking aside, drop its toughness to 5-6, up its points by 50.

Tek wrote:Hang on, if the Special Rule claims it must RUN every turn, surely it could never assault? That seems fair to me. I was thinking this. There's really no need to make this thing more complicated than it needs to be. Give it a set number of wounds, fleet, S10 if you must, T6. Lose the immunity, drop the power weapon wording. You also don't really explain why it should have an invulnerable save. If I were you I would start with carnifex rules and add stuff from there (i.e +fleet 40pts, +psychology immune 35pts etc)

I think that, if you must have the Insane rule, that if there is no enemies in sight, it must attack friendly units.

What gets me is stenght 10 and has up too 15 attacks on the charge.... so it hits on 3 doubles out every one on a 2....
I mean you have to have a unit that made to kill a creature like that... i can only think of a handful, that can even come close to it... I mean Nightbringer isnt that tough of a guy and hes 360 in points.
I would give him a 4+ armour/inv sav, and make his base attacks like 5+d3 make his Intivative like 2. would make him more like a non Apoc creature.

Use Lukus the trickster!
50% chance you will remove it from the table.
But seriously good luck finding people to play against!
New Rule:
Whenever the controlling play wins a game using this creature you must hand the model over to your opponent to keep. (New owner must use this rule also or just rip the model apart for bits!)

This thing is unworkable unless you significantly change its rules. as so many have said, it is VERY OVERPOWERED!
C'tan; gods on earth would be whupped by this. Scratch that, everything would be whupped by this!
I'd play around using Mawloc/Tyrgon rules then beef up the stats and points costs as needed. 18"-24" charge range TOPS, no more than 8 str 10 attacks if that and atleast 300pts judging by what you want.
Hell i'd say 600+pts as it is.

How about: 'If Lauriigon moves, it must take an I test to avoid spiking it's own tongue. If failed the creature takes a wound with no saves possible and can't move at all until the next turn.

In a standard game of 40k on a 4X6 this is insanely OP. I play Tau, now let's assume you get 1st turn. Dawn of war or even pitched battle you're in CC on turn one & my I2, WS3, S3 Tau have no way of dealing with that. We didn't even get a chance to try & shoot it. It's a bad-@$$ creature but I feel it belongs in the bad-@$$ world of apoc.

Bumping thread to suggest that OP's creature might be an interesting way to turn a Carnifex bitz hoard into a fairly convincing Trygon or Mawloc?
