But it's because the helmets have zero perifirel (sp) vision and aiming from the shoulder is impossible with the bulky armor. The flawed cloning theory doesn't hold any water as the Clone Troopers are just as terrible shots as the Stormtroopers of the Original Trilogy. They're horrible accuracy has been dubbed "Stormtrooper Syndrome" as said before, and has actually been adopted by the military to describe horrible marksmen.

As to the Emperor controlling them, I find this highly unlikely as even the Emperor would only be powerful enough to control those in his immediate vicinity with a radius of MAYBE a hundred miles or so. The thing is, in order to control someone he would have to be aware of their individual consciousness. I don't care how force sensitive you are that would be VERY difficult to do when you can't see faces.

You're saying this about a man who erased the memories of AN ENTIRE PLANET to make them forget that there was a Super Star Destroyer buried under the mountains of Coruscant. I think you may be underestimating the Emperor's abilities just a little or you are seriously misinformed to some of the things he's actually(fictionally) done.

What's this about a planet with amnesia?

It would have been much better to have a stormtrooper to shoot Lucas after he came up with the idea of Star Wars, but before he could soil the concept by writing any characters, stories, etc.

Then we might have some plots where the troopers don't need to shoot like blind idiots in order to have a movie lasting more than 30 seconds.

Hmmm... something is amiss here. In Episode III the Clone troopers took out the Droid army and a large chunk of high level Jedi Masters. Come Episode IV it's all gone to pot!?!

I think Chromedog has it right; they're using the Force to disrupt their aim. Perhaps Luke had passive abilities that he wasn't aware of.

As for the Ewoks, those Stormtroopers seemed to be trained in ship-to-ship combat. It was strategically just as stupid as dropping a bunch of Naval Provosts on Catachan.

There were a lot of cases where it COULDN'T be the force. Instances when they were shooting at non-jedi.

Only problem with that is that "happened" in books by fanboys with a boner for the Emperor and wanted to make him all powerful. If they Emperor was so vastly powerful he would have had the foresight to step a foot to the left before Vader limped towards him and threw him down the Death Star shaft. Sorry, but your logic fails there
