Jes is best for me, hands down, can't think of any models of his I don't like. Julian Diaz is a close second.

Morley is my worst for upteen models up until and including those Dark Elf monstrosities that got released just before he left. Did em in his spare time eh? wish he hadn't bothered myself.

Plus I disliked most of the 3rd ed Blood Bowl range after the brilliant metals of 2nd, and didn't realise until it was raised reccently that Morley had done most of the 3rd ed range. *cries*

So no not really anything to do with Nagash for me, although that fig was seriously bad.

Bob Olley now does some impressive freelance stuff, his forte seems to be dwarves and he's made some really nice ones.

But back in the day I really didn't care for his work, some nasty looking genestealers, imperial servitors and orcs. It all had a 'swirly' design to it I couldn't get on with.

also i mean no offence to mr. morissons sculpt they're great, but mr.morrison jumped at the chance to take the computer off me when an employee asked for him to do something, literally i was hurt deeply and thats no way to treat somebody who took the time out of a day they could've spent going to a party and doing other stuff to attend GDUK especially when they are an aspiring sculptor.

Not to sound patronising but I've never met or corresponded with you before and your initial posts in this thread aren't going to win you any popularity contests. The crux wotchamacallit it's holding is a freaking old SM backbanner with some dodgy jewels on it, it just reeks. Truly the turd-in-the-trifle here.

Alex Hedstrom is amazing, and totally underrated. Tom Meier is also just amazing. Fitzpatrick is also very good.

I like Jes' stuff a lot, especially his tyranid warriors and dark elf cold ones. I think he's a little overrated, though.

A lot of the sculptors that they salivate over on frothersunite are pretty terrible, though. I go there from time to time and they have a pretty dogmatic philosophy "if it's GW its crap, if it's not GW it's amazing. consequently guys like kev white and bob olley can continue to turn out the same crap and to typically rave reviews. I also really hate werner klocke's stuff

It really is an bad model isn't it.

Basically what happened was: I went over to the design studio almost as soon as i got through the door at GDUK. it would have been my first stop but i simply had to have the new forge world weathering powders.

so i was at the design studio and i was reading some sculpting posters (they were on things like sculpting heads and stuff, I'm an aspiring sculptor and was very interested) the man that was currently using the sculpting machine/computer finished and let me have a go. So I thank him and say he was very nice.

Aly asks me if i want to sculpt (add stuff onto the head he had already re-loaded to give me a 'clean slate' to work on) or cut into the face. I say "sculpt please." so he gives me the tool and I start sculpting, I also start talking to him about how i want to be a sculptor for the company when I'm older, so i start sculpting and the first thing I try to do is give the face a scar, which goes horribly wrong and the face get a spike on the forehead, Aly says what was along the lines of "if i had a pint for everytime someone sculpted a spike..."

so after I try to do a scar on the other side of the face he says he's bored of me trying to fix my error and he changes the tool to to something applies boils and when I apply some he laughs and says "that would never become a head in a mold because of the mold line problems, he's laughing as if i knew this!

he puts on a thing that shows the mold lines and shows me whats wrong and then says "here try smoothing those out" so after trying (and succeeding on some boils) he's like "see i told you."

another employee asks him to put something up, which he leaps at the chance to, so feeling a little hurt i left before he turned round and (i would assume he'd say) say: "your still here?"

hopefully you see what my problem is with Aly Morrison as a person.

All of werner klock's female faces look exactly the same. Which wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so distorted and alien.

Sounds like he was trying to give you advice. IIRC, Aly is a fellow Scot, and our accents can sometimes cause confusion as to the context behind our words. Not saying this is what it was, but worth considering.
