Shouldn't all Aussies and Septics just put down 'immigrant' and be done?

I can say this, because due to me genuine heritage (listed above) I am pretty much indigineous to my country. So nyah.

Sorry to poke holes, but there is no such thing as Scotch.

You are either Scottish (or Scots for short, which I will accept) or an alcoholic beverage called Whisky.

Scotch is a word invented by cretins. (and no, the irony of using a French word when espousing my national pride is not in fact lost on me!)

Strange you should say that. Becuase then you would ask when does it start?

After all, Aboriginies migrated to Australia in ages past. So where exactly do you draw the line?

(BTW, no here claimed to be aussie heritage, we've said that we're mostly descended from anglo-saxxons)

I'm English. My uncle is into genealogy, and traced us back as far as the 1300s, to a church record that stated simply, "Died of plague." (So whenever a doctor asks if I have any family history of anything, I always mention plague...) I'm a 1st generation immigrant to the US.

This is disturbing. Given that people match up in pairs, to be a third Japanese, you'd need one Japanese grandparent, one Japanese Great-great Grandparent (on another side), one great-great-great-great Japanese grandparent on another branch, and one more, on another branch, that's like 7 or 8 greats back. And that's still not quite a whole third.

The odds of getting such a strange combination, without getting other Japanese mixed in, is astronomically small. Are you sure you didn't mean a quarter or a half?

Fathers side, pretty much all Welsh, possibly with some Scot in the past as the family name originally comes from the Scottish Ross family.

On my mothers side English, as far I am aware. Its one of those things I might look into properly one of these days.

Dad's side: Ulster as far back as ...meh.

Mum side: Apparently one of my ancestors was killed when William Wallace sacked York, so English as far back as that. My mum did the research on this, but I'm a little skeptical.

I was born in Middlesbrough. That's all that matters.

Mum's French, her family's basically expats, half from Alsace, half from Provence. Dad's English, really boring family history, basically blanks out in my mind. The French side is all interesting, with corsairs, Napoleon, and Resistance all thrown in.

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

Forever alone

Mother's side is British and father's is Irish.

Boring, boring, boring.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

My mother's lineage is from Mexico descendant from Spanish Castellans who emigrated there. Somewhere along the way some Azeteca blood found it's way into the mix. My great great grandfather was a Mexican general who fought in the revolution versus Pancho Villa. My great grandfather was a Catholic priest and graduated from Havard, translating a version of the bible into Spanish. My grandfather was the black sheep of his family.

My father's lineage came from Scotland and can be traced all the way back to the Druids. One of my great uncles was a general in the confederate army and wrote the novel entitled Ben Hur.
