Erm, Tetsuo II:Bodyhammer is fething weird.

Also, 'The Science of Sleep' is very weird, but very good. Gael Garcia Bernal's in it with Michel Gondry directing - he's good for a bit of 'weird'...

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

"Bad Taste" was another one I remember. Aliens turning humans into the main course of an intergalatic MacDonalds type joint until "The Boys" appear and fire up the chainsaws on the aliens.

Best line of the movie, "SUCK MY SPINNING STEEL!"

One of Peter Jackson's better films.
Made when he was accountable for his budgets (hence the crap special effects).

My favorite strange movie is Brazil. You have to watch it more than once just to figure out what's going on.

I am in the same boat mate. Eraserhead was just too... strange for me to pay attention too; and Brazil is by far, my favorite wacky movie. Alongside most of the Monty Python stuff of course.

For me, the "original" silent film version of "Metropolis" is pretty weird.

but looking to more modern movies... the weirdest i think ive seen are

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Natural Born Killers. Also pretty weird is "Apocalypse Now!"

That's ok. Neither do the cast of it.

It was, iirc, intended as the pilot for a series. But Lynch has a habit of going off on other tangents to his tangents.

Yeah, Zardoz was weird. I've watched it more than once.

THX-1138 freaked me out. Badboy Bubby was weird. I'm the only person I know who liked 'Thunderpants'

The two strangest movies I have seen are:

The Labyrinth (Made my head aspoled from pure confusion and how bad it was)

and 2001: A Space Odyssey. Especially the second part. That is one giant acid trip. Two words: SPACE FETUS!!!

Two plus two equals five.

I'll second City of Lost Children. It's a stunning movie, visually.

I also have to toss Infection's hat into the ring:

Incubus (1965) A whole movie done in Esperanto. What more can I say?

The Seventh Seal (1957) Ingmar Bergman does weirdness deluxe. Crusader knight plays chess with Death while traveling plague ridden countryside.

A Boy and His Dog is the oddest movie I have ever seen, trust me.

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......

I own that film on DVD, it was given to me by a friend who though it was toss. I love it, it's up there with Excalibur as one of my favourite John Boorman films. Excalibur is being remade BTW.

Any love for Delicatessen?
